where are the people going on sunday am ,to obi or to captree , someone told me that the gates were locked at oak beach last sunday, a late town worker or are we being pushed out
I haven't been out on a Sunday morning in a while, but I think that Captree is open now. I'm pretty sure they stopped collecting fees after Columbus Day weekend.
I just called the Captree boat basin and unfortunately they indicated that the parking fees are in effect until the last Sunday in November, the 25th. Seems like they are charging later & later and getting greedy. So it looks like the OBI if that is open this Sunday.

i guess i'll try obi first as it fills up fast but if locked up ill go to captree i am meeting a friend that drove from kentucky in a 46 crosley it is stretched 30 inches and has a buick straight 8 in it, chopped and sucide doors it is an assume creation
Just got back from Captree this morning. It was really crowded. Nobody was at the OBI and the gates were open. They weren't charging at Captree and a few people indicated that they have stopped. Ignore my previous post on the charge. So it looks like it will be Captree on Sundays for the next several months.

Thanks for the update. I checked with my friend who told me that they stopped charging after Columbus Day and he is standing by that.
That Crosley was great. Drew a huge crowd. Buick straight 8 power. Figures I didn't have a camera. The charge booths have been boarded up so it looks like rest of season at captree
weather was great there was a really good turn out my friend with the crosly will be arround for a few more days then he has to go back to kentucky they are going to do a spread on the car for a mag in kentuckyhe was shocked by the amount of cars that showed up by 7.30 and the caliber of the cars all he wants to do is go to criuse nights every day he is here, after captree he wsa heading out to hallock farm to check out some of the higher priced cars
I may be on LI with my Z06 this Sunday and hope to get to Captree. I haven't been to Captree in over 20 years and I can't remember if there is one parking lot or more? Where and what time do you guys get there and how long does everyone hang out? Can someone get me up to speed on Captree? Thanks.
Sure,Captree is going strong, people start getting there around 7-7:30 and stay till after 10am,I went this past Sunday got there around 8am plenty of parking ,everyone who gets there early park to the left ,if you get there a little late no big deal just park in the right lot .I'll be there Sunday ,see you there.
