I didn't know you were settled here yet. There is a good bar that's not too far from lodi. It's called th Mexicali Blues Bar, in Teaneck. It's fairly big, and they have decent food, and some pretty good bands. I've been there twice , but it's not near where I live. On route 17 in Maywood, there is an indoor gocart track that some folks went to a little while back. I can't remember the name, but it's right at the corner or Essex St, and route 17.Google them on your computer. Also check this section for events, so you can meet up with people local to your area. Welcome.

Hey man, welcome to farther East!
I grew up in Detroit. Nice part of town, the 7 mile and Evergreen area.
I moved to Jersey in '81 and to PA in '99.
Lodi is a nice little area and loaded with lots of good bakeries and diners.
Especially as you get closer to Garfield.

i went to college at 6mile and livernois...hahahha....

i managed to find a starbucks and was hoping to use the internets there but it wasnt free..... so i was a bit pissed since i spent 12 bucks thinking i was was going to be able to hang out for a bit.

i'm going to try to go to brooklyn this weekend and see some people.... just need to find the closest train station to get me there..

once i get settled a bit, i need to find some empty space to get my mini model shop going and hopefully hustle some side work from nyc.

other than that, i realized that in nj, you can't pump your own gas....thats a bit strange. also seen that getting an ez-pass might be next on my list, but not sure if i have to be a resident in nj to have one

You do not have to be a resident of NJ to get EZ pass.

Welcome to Jersey!

Hey I live in So Jersey. For the most part people are nice down here

But I'm a transplant too. Therefore, it's ok for me to be nice to the new guy and not have to worry about ruining the Jersey Reputation

On Rt 46W there is a pool hall right in Lodi. There isn't much to do in Lodi, I take it you moved there due to the facts the rents are very cheap.

The one good point is that your very close to Manhattan. You can take the train from Elmwood Park to the tubes in Hoboken which will take you right into the City. You can as well take the bus from Rt 46E right into the Port Authority into the City as well.

Nyack and West Nyack are both nice towns which are very trendy, however, your going to be paying more for rent.

My personal time has been scarce which has become more of a luxury item to me. If I had more I'd be more than happy to come get you and show you around. I'm only about 20 minutes from you.

Welcome to the Garden State.

Lodi
J Fogerty

Just about a year ago
I set out on the road
Seekin' my fame and fortune
Lookin' for a pot of gold
Thing got bad, things got worse
I guess you will know the tune
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again

Rode in on the Greyhound
I'll be walkin' out if I go
I was just passin' through
Must be seven seven months or more
Ran out of time and money
Looks like they took my friends
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again

The man from the magazine
Said I was on my way
Somewhere I lost connections
Ran out of songs to play
I came into town, a one night stand
Looks like my plans fell through
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again

If I only had a dollar
For every song I've sung
And every time I had to play
While people sat there drunk
You know, I'd catch the next train
Back to where I live
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in a Lodi again
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in a Lodi again

In Lodi, you got the Sound Garden, or get Steppin Out magazine.

There are a lot of bars and hangouts in the area just minutes to get to, and if it was summer, every sat evening the whiskey cafe has a car show
