In todays modern times guns are used for robbing people, killing ex-wives/girlfriends, road rage and mass shooting sprees. In my homeland, the former USSR, guns are reserved for military & the police. President Obama should make it a federal law banning private citizens to bear arms. Caught with a gun, mandatory 5yrs in jail.....and since Obama is clearing out Guantanamo Bay, there will be plenty of prison beds

Oh, and those that want to hunt use a bow and arrow.

WTF

You know, I hate to say this, but Ed does have a point. The original constitution, and Bill of Rights was written in a completely different era. Don't get me wrong, I do own guns, but to be honest there are too many out there, and there are too many crazy people who can get them.
Hunting could be done in restricted areas, and you would have to rent a rifle or shotgun there, which could be included in the permit price. You could go to a shooting range like Josh suggested, and rent a gun there.
How many mass killings would we have if someone had to do it with a hatchet, knife, or a shovel? How many random people would get killed if only the same weapons were available. The problem is that at this point, how do you get rid of all the guns out there now? The answer is to let everyone have a sidearm of equal power. At least then, we'd all be on equal ground if it came down to it.
No matter how passionate you may be about getting guns off the streets, the reality is that the bad guys will ALWAYS be capable of getting guns.

I happen to agree with your last statement. Let's go back to the days of the wild west and let everyone have guns. The good guys will always outnumber the bad guys and crime and criminals can be dealt with by the good guys. Poof ... no more bad guys!!!

Yes, he CAN read. The problem is, without a prompter he can't compose a sentence on his own without stuttering and stumbling and hemming and hawing.

I have no problem with his age, looks or skin color. I have a BIG problem with his politics. How can you possibly agree with the money he's spent over his first 100 days? Why can't he find a cabinet member without tax evasion problems? Why does the government now own banks and private businesses? You are on the wrong side of the curve.

States where it is illegal to own a firearm have the highest crime rate. THAT is a fact! CRIMINALS will not go after people who can and WILL defend themselves. RESPONSIBLE gun owners should not be punished for what the CRIMINALS do. If everyone was allowed to own a firearm there would be a lot less crime - ITS BEEN PROVEN Austrailia banned firearms from the country - their crime rate went thru the roof!!

Too bad hunting isn't allowed where I live. The overpopulation of deer around here is costing me a ton of money. I can't replace my shrubs fast enough now that the deer wander in and eat them.

What's the difference if it fell 80 points from a high for the day or 80 points from the opening bell? 80 points is 80 points and that's a dump in my book.
