if you live in NYC (Manhattan) you will get pulled over everytime at the midtown tunnel (queens bound) and if you leave it parked outside, the traffic cops will nail you for 2 tickets every chance they get, "no front plate" and "improper display of front plate".....otherwise, you have nothing to worry about
after 4.5 years of being plateless i put it on.. ive been doing too much NYC driving to be bothered with it..

Front plates on a C5 arent that bad with the built in holder .
On a C6 , they are super gay.
If you can afford a C6 , you can afford a couple of bucks worth of plate tickets .

You've clearly missed the point that several people, including myself, have said, and it's not money-related. Why give the police any further incentive to pull you over, as if driving a Vette doesn't get their attention already? Zero good can come from that.. who knows what else an officer might decide to come up with or do once he's pulled you over.... Zero upside and a huge potential downside.
And still, only the Vette owners have spoken badly of a C6 front plate.. average people I come across while driving have been nothing but complimentary and often saying just how much they love the car and/or color.
Again, I guess I'll try to sleep at night knowing a Vette owner thinks my car looks super gay.

I thought it was just Shermon ...Funny thing is Ive been pulled 4 or 5 times since Ive been driving C6's, and the cop didnt even mention the front plate .

put it on 2 weeks ago because i was heading to captree and didn't want to deal with cops.. also been parking in the city on the weekends so i didn't want to deal with tickets.. might be able to afford them, but why waste a few hundred bucks over a front plate when having one really doesn't bother me?

and Ive been pulled over about 4 times over the 5 years Ive had the car.. The only time the cop said something was when I was heading into the city through the midtown tunnel... Not really sure what the cop was more pissed about; the lack of a front plate, blown passenger headlight or the expired inspection. :o

With a C6 its the same thing as putting on a yellow POST-IT on your forehead and walk around in public..it just doesnt belong there.

He did miss the point, since his point was if someone can afford a C6, he can also afford the tickets. That's missing the point.
And yes, good analogy... one is technically breaking the law in NJ, one is putting a post-it on your forehead.. I'd like to see that one show up on a kid's SAT's.
