You have a chance of getting pulled over. But for the looks of not having it is worth the under $100 ticket that is most likely rare to get. In my opinion.

I have over 20 years of no front plate and my state requires one.

IMHO during normal driving you are OK for the most part, but if an inspection type road block is working they will probably write you.

All depends if you're willing to live with the risk. I drive with a front plate. No need to give a LEO any additional incentive to want to pull me over (seeing a Vette can be enough sometimes).

I don't have a badge or a "get out of jail free" card. No time for hassles with cops just looking to add revenue for the township/borough.

You can keep the bracket and plate inside the car. So when you get pulled over " Officer I just bought the bracket and was going to get it mounted." Or something to the effect or if you get a ticket just show the local office that you have a bracket and they will drop the charge. It will get you outta the ticket but it works oh so many times. I havent get pulled over once for it in 3 years now. Its worth the risk I think....

I live in a mandatory front plate state and have driven 13k miles without one, and have even been pulled over without it. Never had a LEO say anything yet.

There's nothing in your profile to indicate what state you're in but I've been in NJ "without" since mid-2005 & have never had a problem. My '05 is coming up for 1st state inspection in couple of months, so will probably figure out a way to "zip tie" a front plate on to keep DMV happy & then pull it off again soon as I get home! IMHO there's nothing more ugly than a C6 with a plate stuck on the nose....

Well, where you live they tend to go overboard in the nuisance department.

Way up state I have found things to be much more relaxed. There are laws on seat belts and cell phone use and those puppies are ignored more than speed laws. Same for the front plate. Other than inspection road blocks where they ticket any little thing you are for the most part OK.

TO ANOTHER POSTER I do not think a front plate is part of our state inspection here.

get more parking tickets for the no front plate on the vettes than moving violations....

of course if I"m getting stopped for movers.....there's usually a much more pressing reason than my lack of front plate

The 5 boro run today just brought this up all too clearly. Several cars were stopped at a NYC bridge for not having front plates, and one or two tickets were issued. Do you really need to deal with that crap? Just buy one of those brackets that mount UNDER the bumper of your C6. It flips up to show the cops you've got it on the car, but folds down, out of the way, and you don't even see it. I believe it's about $50 from Mid America. That's cheaper than a $70 ticket.

Was this the TBTA wannabe "cops"? Was there no one there to speak up to these glorified toll collectors? Sorry I couldn't make the run ... maybe I could have helped.

And I'm not a cop, but if I was the cop that bothered to turn around to pull you over for no front plate (that would mean I was a ***** to begin with) and you showed me that you had a plate, it was just hidden from view, I would still give you the ticket (probably worded as "failure to display" or similar). Then I would try really hard to find some other things to write you for. Of course I would go sit in my car with your DL for a half an hour pretending the computer was down and that I had to wait until your info came back clear. Maybe that's why I'm not a cop!
But it's why I just run the front plate...mine's a C5 Z so it doesn't look as out of place as a plate on a C6.

No plate for me. I only got 1 ticket over 2 years ago. It was a road block safety inspection (a we need money stop). They stopped every car, looking to write tickets for seat belts, inspection stickers, NO FRONT TAG. It was $54 and no problems since.
