Planning to have American Racing headers (1 3/4 x 3) with X-pipe & high flow cats installed on my C6....mated to Corsa Sports mufflers. Engine otherwise stock. Any pros or cons? I'm especiaaly interested if any objectional exhaust sound when cruising.....also, anyone have experience getting thru NJ emissions testing with that set up?
Drove down in the dark to get here by 7:30....Chris offered WaWa coffee but I had my DD! Mike is working on the C6....already has the OEM headers, cats & my Corsa X-pipe out on the garage floor. Doug is here to do the tune once the AR headers are in. Weather is great this morning & forecast is good for the Toys for Tots run on Saturday, so should be a blst with the new headers. Will update as work progresses. BTW....if anyone is interested, the Corsa X-pipe is for sale...C6 manual tranny.
Mike finished the ARH install.....Doug hooked up his magic boxes & disappeared down Rt. 539.....I presume he's coming back! Sure sounded good as he headed out......
Just got back from the ECS shop......80 miles mixed on local roads, Turnpike & GSP. All I can say is OUTSTANDING! The AR headers are just what I'd hoped for.....great increase in mid-range torque & no appreciable increase in exhaust volume while cruising along, but on WOT....oh my! Don't have any dyno data, but just seat of the pants tells me there's 25-35 more RWHP. And the job by the guys at ECS was fantastic.....Mike did the install....Doug did the tune.....both these guys are masters of their craft. If you've had any thoughts about going the header route, take my word...DO IT! Call Chris at ECS & I'm sure he'll set you up. BTW.....I was in & out in 3 1/2 hours. Also, as mentioned in earlier post, if anyone needs a Corsa X-pipe, PM me & we'll work a deal.

Figured you get a nice grin out of the experience. I'm sure there is improved fuel mileage that goes with the tune, but can't say I have noticed it yet - enjoying the "accelerative violence" too much.
