Update on Lymphoma

Aside from the needle they shoved into the top of my arm, there was no pain......no chemo "burn" so that's a plus - but I also know that most of the crappy side effects don't hit you right away so I'm sort of just holding my breath. I keep looking at my skin, hoping each time I roll up my sleeve, the spots will magically vanish.......yeah so far, that hasn't happened, lol. When I told the nurse that the needle in my arm was still hurting 10 minutes after she put it in, she asked me "do you want me to move it to another vein?".......ummmm, lets see......NO!!!!!!!!!! A warm compress took care of the aching.
But I've made it through the first treatment and am scheduled for at least two more (for now) so the next one is in three weeks. I sure hope this stuff works.
As always I can't thank you all enough for all the prayers and support and for following the chronicles of my journey - y'all are a great bunch!!!!!

sorry Kym, I should have posted sooner. So far with one treatment under my belt, I feel decent. A little abdominal pain (like a tummy ache), an increase in hot flashes (which SUCK!) that were finally subsiding from the radical chemo.....at any given time I get the urge to rip all my clothes off
and some fatigue (nowhere near as bad as last time - just a general feeling of "blah", I don't feel like doing anything kind of tired). So I have to say that "so far" its going just slightly better than expected but I know better than to think "whew, I can handle this". It took at least two or three treatments last time for the really horrible side effects to kick in. The big one that they watch for is the peripheral neuropathy (tingling or loss of feeling in the fingers and toes) - last time I dealt with it until I lost my fine motor skills, then made the doc cut out the drug that was causing it. Now I have all the feeling back and all my motor skills back and I'm told to expect it again - I'm really hoping to escape this one this time around.
But I gotta say that overall, I feel pretty good after the first treatment and after about a week I immediately started seeing results. Combined with some sunshine, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if every one of these marks was gone after the second treatment. Sadly though, the longer they have been on my skin, the more likely they are to leave scars in the form of a dark pigment so I have lots of battle scars but that's a small price to pay.
Ideally I'd like to hear that its finally under control so that by the end of the summer I can go back to work!
