Do you have the windshield EZ or the one for the license plate?

Won't work at the bridges for Delaware River crossings either. There are gates at all lanes.

So it's not really the "best solution".

Is it still free in Jersey to have? I'm about to swap mine out from Maryland where they charge us a monthly subscription fee. Not worth it for me anymore since I only use it about twice a year. I used to travel a lot for work and they paid for it. Now its just another expense. But I understand that I can get a Jersey issued one with no monthly fee.

I just hold mine up or rest it on the dash for a minute as I go thru/under the tolls. To much work to get it stuck up on the window then remove it..works just as well holding it up and it's free!

Nope! $1 a month service charge here in the Garden State (taxes aren't high enough for free EZ pass, )

Ps. Just to rub it in I'm typing Y'all from the land of oranges, palm trees, and the Daytona 500.

Nice! I'm going to be flying in to Orlando the 19th (night before). Unfortunately for me I'm going for work and I'll be sitting in an 8 hour class on Sunday and not at the race.

On a better note though I used to work for Sprint and have been down for the week before the race. Got to go through the pits, sat up in the big mirrored building and watched the truck races etc. Pretty damn cool, even if you have no interest in Nascar.

Gates - yes. But they go up with or without the ez-pass. Do it all the time over Ben Franklin and Walt Whitman. They don't want some knucklehead realizing too late he's in an ez-pass lane and then try to back up.

NJ only hands out 3 devices (so the lovely rep told me over the phone); I have 6 cars on the account. As long as the license plates are registered on your account, your account gets charged automatically.
If no device and your plate is not registered, then you will get the summons in the mail.

But about NY, didn't know that those gates wouldn't go up regardless.

I got 4 devices, don't know why she said you can only get three. Try to go online and request more.

I've got 4 from NY EZPass. I just looked on the website and didn't see anything that would indicate I couldn't order more. I did notice the only choice for the type of ez tag when ordering more is "interior".

Yes on-line they only offer the windshield type. If you call the customer service line you can ask them for the one that attaches to the license plate holder. The only thing with that one in my experience the batteries go bad quickly. I trade mine in every three yrs now to avoid the hassle at the barriers. The batteries don't go dead, so when they test it at the EZ-Pass store they are reluctant. You just tell them you had to have the police scan the bar code a few times and they give you a new one.

I've never heard of an EZ PASS being stolen. Is this a problem that I've not heard about? Had one on my plate for years and have never worried about the ones on the inside of windshield either....

I've had the license plate attached device since 2004; my mountaineer at the time had the metal (?) windshield that required the license plate device.

No issues so far with it not registering at the tolls.

I have a NJ EZ Pass and painted the tag and Velcro strips black. Mounted it behind rear mirror.
