Is this the Northeast Event section??? I find out Sunday that the Peddlers Village show was Saturday. I think this forum has been doing a **** poor job of keeping us informed of all the Corvette events anymore. No mention here or in the Calendar. This is not the first event that I have not seen listed either.
I try to keep up on things BUT it's up to everyone to post what they know!
It's a big job trying to keep up with all the events that take place in our area. If you know something post it.. You can even arrange a get together, you'll be suprised at the responces you get..
so don't rely on the forum as your source of information, apply for a refund of your membership dues, and don't whine, cry and complain about it here... please. It really annoys me when people who sit around and do nothing complain that volunteers aren't doing enough to meet their needs.

I think some of you took Frank's comment the wrong way.
A while back I added a lot to the Calendar but never saw any posts that members were attending these events. I figure why should I spend my valuable time listing events few are interested in. I'd rather spend my time COORDINATING events like the Grand Canyon cruise and supporting other coordinators with theirs like Skyline and the Crab Cruises. I set up and post mostly what I am interested in, CRUISING. The racing crowd does a good job of posting their events and I see enough posts about shows as well. I see a fair amount of show posts too.
OK so you missed one show, I doubt you would have done it anyway, remember it rained Saturday
The great thing about this forum is ANYONE can post an event or plan one. It would really be nice to see some new faces coming up with an event
I assumed that the events sections are valuable only if forum members post their events before they occur. I've seen a few, but I don't read this section regularly only because I know that most advertising for events isn't something that most folks think about. Maybe I'll watch it more colosely and contribute to it too (when I have something to contribute).

I DO my part. Whenever I know of a event I post it. Do a search of my post and you will see. I have even participated in planning events. My point is we need to be more diligent about posting events we know of and not sit back and hope the "other" guy does it. Peddlers Village is a pretty popular event in this area and the fact that it was not posted here speaks volumes.
I also have to wonder if people are still coming here after the last outage. It was many weeks before the www.corvetteforum.cc url started working again. I thought the forum was down for a few weeks before Rex told me it was up and I tried the www.corvetteforum.com url and got in.
This forum is only what we make it, if you know of an event, POST IT.

Regardless of what interest you the most, racing, showing or cruising, if you know of a Corvette event you should post it since everybody has different interest and it only takes a second out of your day to put it out here.

As I said in my previous post this forum is only going to be what we make it so... Lets stay #1 and not give people an excuse to go to crossed flags or the action center or any of the other competitors. They are all great resources but we need to keep this place #1.
so go find another forum if your unhappy with this one.
I am sure that is exactly what Troy and all of our advertisers want me to do.
Definitely a much better solution than tying to improve how we do things.

Like I said in a previous post I used to do that. I mostly added to the calendar using publications like Cruise New and Satchells Pages. Plus that was when I was able to be on the computer a lot at work. Most events that members actually participated in were events that were created here.
As Regional Events Coordinator I don't think it's in the job description to be responsible for listing every show, cruise and race going on. I think I do a good job posting (and creating) the cruises, Redgar does a good job posting the racing, maybe we do need someone to be more on top of the shows, help us be that #1 and take care of that for us FRANK
Oh yea.....and while the waxers are sitting at shows Redgar and I will be driving

Frank, it was great when JP did the calendar for sure, he really did a great job, but I am sure it took a lot of time on his part, as you said I too have missed a lot of Vette shows, as well as other car club shows, I have an advantage having my customers tell me about them, of course some times it after the fact. I guess we have to start getting this info to post by late winter or early spring, all the members here can help by getting this info from their local cars clubs and posting it, that will help.
