Bought the Frost King material at Home Depot, but have not installed, yet. I believe someone else had mentioned that the trunk area only would take care of 90%+ of road noise. The vehicle is off the road for the winter, but from another posting I did purchase the sound barrier from Ecklers, with the Z06 logo, fit was good.

I have a coupe and was told the Sound Barrier or Partition wouldnt work .
I have a partition as well, big difference with it in.
FJ you are correct a partition will not work with a coupe.
Honestly, is the sound that bad in a coupe? I know that the Zs are loud because we have considerably less sound deadening and noiser tires. Not to mention we have less speakers.
You could also pick up the lugage compartment cover.

Did you get metallic tape? You will need that for the seams.
The frost king I would do in your garage because that is time consuming and at the end of the day you can just lock everything back inside if you are not done. This would also be true if you are changing the Fogs to 885s. You can change them and adjust them without lifting the car.
For anything that you need ramps or a jack if you don't have it feel free to come over.
The CAGS is only a 10 min job with ramps and a jack.

I still have to take the time to look the car over and see how easy it is to remove the carpeting. The FK install looks fairly easy and backbreaking. But I also end up with time during the week while normal people are working , to get the project started.
How much Frost King would I need, and HOw much of what type of Duct tape should i get?>??
The Carpet is really easy to remove. Just undo the holders for your top (if you have a coupe) and remove the pieces under them. also remove the nuts that hold the net. The carpet slides out from under the speakers. There is anotehr piece in the back that you need to get off, but it is easy.

You will need 5 rolls in total of FK and 1 thing of tape. 3 Rolls of FK to use in the tub area in the back and behind the seats (that is what I used and what I have heard others use). The other 2 rolls should be enough to do the front. from what I heard try keeping it away from the tunnel area because that area can get really hot.
The tape is for the seams and depending on how good you are with laying it out will depend how much you need.
What kind of Duct tape?? Regular or do they have a foil tape? Etc.....
Get the foli tape so it will match the FK. The FK is rubber on one side and foil on the other. Also as a word to the wise you should wear a glove to protect your fingers from the small cuts that you will get while putting down the FK. My fingers got ripped apart because I was always catching the foil jagged ends...
Is the FK sticky on one side so as to adhere to the surface?( yeah i know...dumb f**king question)
did I forget to tell you to buy Crazy Glue? You will need that to stick it to the carpet -
Actually it is sticky so try and buy a newer package if you can because the old packages tend to stick together and as you pull it open you lose some of the rubber.
I am not sure if there is a date on the package, but if you can tell then try. As you unroll them you will see it is sticky and you will be able to put it down and if need be move it. I believe that once you are done and then put the carpet back in it will then flatten out more.
another Note : don't put in 2 layers for 2 reasons:
1. There has been no real proof with studies that 2 layers gives you better sound installation so why spend the money.
2. It will be almost impossible to get your carpet back on with 2 layers - one is hard enough in some areas that is why I left the area around the speakers without FK to make sure I could get the carpet back under the speaker...

Since it sounds like you'd have limited time and space (working in a parking garage I think you said) you can save half a day's time by using our pre-cut insulation kit. Check it out if you like, it's on sale until Jan 8th.
Have a Happy New Year! One of these years I want to make it to Times Square for New Year's, have lots of family up there that tell me it's crazy!
