I'm trying to understand your post. You were happy with the tint job that Premier did to your window. You damaged it up installing the window hardware and now you are upset that they won't redo it for free?
Premier had me remove the hardware from the window before they would tint the window,no problem. My concern after the job was complete was the hardware shifting on the window, the owner told theres nothing to worry about, wait 3 days and put the hardware back on the car there wont be any problems,I waited 4 days, put everything back on the window and the very thing I asked about several times happened. Before I left Premiere that day I asked the owner if his guys would put the window back together, they wouldn't do it.It was almost as if the guy knew this was going to happen. When you do business with somebody and it goes wrong the first thing the owner will say is bring it by and Ill take a look or we can work something out, after 5 minutes into the conversation the guy finally says, well, bring the car by and ll take a look but it will cost you $350 to redo the tint. This was my experience with Premier,no bull$hit,no exaggerations just the facts. At the time my ZR-1 had 8000 miles and I only wanted the best so thats why I went to Premier. If somebodys had good results with them, great, they'll never touch another car of mine.

I recall this coming on several parts in this section. I would say that over the years I've built up quite a good relationships with this company, which prompted me to speak to the owner of Premier regarding this because I have 100% faith in the work they've done for me. As mentioned before, I've used them for tint and clear bra on multiple vehicles as well as referred countless friends and relatives. The results were the same - very positive. According to the owner of Premier, they were apprehensive of taking anything off your car because you were "insanely particular" (these were the words used) with your car. They showed me video footage along with audio recordings of your conversation with them and I have to admit, there is quite a bit of attitude in your initial interactions with them even before they worked on your car. Let's just say, after hearing some of the recordings and watching their recorded video footage, I understand why they did not want to take anything off of your car (including the constant foul language - sorry, but I'm a man of God and it stung listening to the words coming out of your mouth)
Just my 0.02c. After hearing both sides of the story, I don't think it's their fault. I think 383vett made a good point. You can't blame someone for something that you put on that marred the product.

You've got to be kidding me,audio and video?I had no knowledge I was being recorded, isnt that illegal? If the guy had any reservations about working on my car he should have let it known before hand.Since this place has such a stellar video, audio system did you catch the part about him telling me that when I put the hardware back on the car that there wouldnt be an issue or that I had reservations about putting the hardware back on the car myself for fear of screwing it up?If you were paying such close attention to my foul language then you had to of heard that part of the conversation, I only asked the guy at least 3 times, did you catch that part about the hardware shifting and ruining the tint film or did the owner only show you what benefited him and his business? Why did the film move causing wrinkles in the film?I am extremely picky about my car,Im the only one that works on my car so on the rare occasions I need something done that I cant do I cringe thinking about somebody else touching my car.I wont have the window tinted again, dont want anybody else touching my car.As stated,if your happy with this place, fine, thats really all that matters.
Just had him do the clear bra on my 02 Z06 and couldn't be happier. He ended up cutting it by hand. The attention to detail and the quality of work was absolutely amazing. Couldn't be happier.

I had my rear window tinted on my C4 years ago. The person who did it did a great job. I reinstalled the hardware myself and the material bunched up around the window attachments just like yours. Like you, I am also very particular about my car but I accepted responsibility for my mistake. I did not blame the installer for not warning me. That never crossed my mind. I still race this car every week and it still has the same wrinkles. It just reminds me to be more careful with what I do.

O.K. so what do you do with the hardware, leave it off the window indefinitely?,leave it loose allowing it to move around? What mistake did you make? What warning could the installer have givin you?According to you a mistake was made at some point, what was it?The window had to go back together at some point. The film wrinkling like it did,is that that the way it is?Bull$hit, the very thing that happened to your car happened to mine.

Calm down Jeff. This isn't life or death. We're talking window tint here. No wonder your tint man didn't want to work on your car. Also, no one wants to communicate with you if you're going to swear. If I were to do this over again, I would be very careful tighting the attachments. As soon as I saw the tint just starting to wrinkle, I would stop tightening. Maybe a little blue locktite could be used since the attachment screw wouldn't be really tight.

My point here is that Vettey and everybody else that thinks Im responsible for ruining the tint job,you proved my point. Is it rocket science as to how do you get the thing back together without ruining the tint?As far as me walking into this business with an attitude, never happened. If I was a business owner and somebody walks in off the street and wants to pay for my service and throws an attitude in my face, theres the door Chief, done bug me.The attachments for the struts have to be tight, leave them loose and its going to move everytime the window is opened or closed.Les,my apologies for ruining your thread here.Im done with this.
We have a Venture Shield installer we use exclusively close to our shop. He has done a couple of dozen Corvettes for us. He has done a lot for the local chevy dealer down the block from us, including 2 ZR1's. This guy is super meticulous. Call me or pm me and I will give you his business and phone number.
Thanks
Terry
He did my 08Z AO. Fantastic job. I Would recommend Bill highly.

Good to see someone give some good, calm perspective on this subject. Bottom line is some people need to own up to their own mistakes. There are more important things in life than to hold a constant grudge over something as trivial as this,...especially when the fault is highly, highly debatable.
