I test drove an 04, and i definitely felt the weight. Admittingly this was an 04 with the ls1 and only 350hp. With mods obviously which the GTO loves it will be fast. But if youre gonna keep it stock i would get an 05+ since the 04 power was mediocre at best.

Zaino'd it up Friday but of course it has to rain...well...we need the rain...pics after I can clean it up again...enjoying the driving right now...I went Quicksilver with a Red Hot interior...LS-2 is nice...you do feel the weight but that's ok...enjoyable everyday driver...I did the "sub" gain "mod" yesterday and removed the distrotion (VIA DIC) and it made a difference...(sub gain **** in the trunk is factory set at half...I turned it all the way up...a little more bass but everything seems clearer sounding throughout the range)...

Default Corvette and GTO here too!

I think the car looks cleaner minus the rear spoiler....

I really like the GTO except for 2 things. The rear spoiler as mentioned and the the wheel wells are to small. The car would have been a sucess if it was for those 2 things. I hope the 09 is an improvement. Also Pontiac really needs to loose the honeycomb crap it's the one thing I don't like about my 98 TA Convert.

Wow, it looks very nice! Especially with the SAP body kit.

You wouldn't happen to know of a black on red A4 with SAP?

no...this was the first SAP I had seen in the flesh...when I was looking...MANY dealers had black (and red) colored cars...Don't know if they were black with the red hot interiors or not...

We have a PBM '04 M6. It's a great DD/Trip car and pulls down 27 mpgs. If I need faster, I step into the vette. The '05 and '06 put us over the threshold of what we could afford, so we went for the '04 with NO regrets. It beats up BMW's all the time. I wish the brakes were better, but I knew a head of time it was no race car. 350bhp is more than enough for crowded city streets.

I bought an 06 Impulse Blue Metallic M6 as my daily driver this past February. It makes quite a pair with my Vert.

It would make a great daily driver. Just not in the winter. The 04 will not feel as fast as a c5 but an 05-06 will. As most of you know though the ls1 can be easlily moded to give you all the ponies you need.

Im thinking about getting a GTO after my Vette is paid off.

Logic would dictate I sell the GTO, but I am having a very hard time doing it. I listed it for sale once but backed out. It is a very easy car to drive on a daily basis and the power is there. It is very comfortable/quiet on the road and the interior is of much higher quality than the Z.

So to answer your question, YES DO IT.

BTW, I decided to sell the Camaro instead.

Damn, those are some nice cars! You looking to adopt a son!?

Cough, you mean Holden. The entire cars were imported from Australia with the pontiac body kit added here in the states. You can easily convert it back to a Holden Monaro by adding a few panels.

The G8 will be the replacement for the "GTO".

True, however it's not a GM car produced here in . Ford owns Jaguar and others too, doesn't mean it resembles any other Ford!

Oh and that's not my GTO, it's Doc GTO's on ls1gto.com. He converted all the panels to look like a Monaro.

nice...similar but Holden/Opel/Vauxhaul is GM Oz/Europe/GB...more like the difference between FORD here and Ford of Europe...sweet nonetheless...thanks for the pic...

More accurately, the G8 is the replacement for the Grand Prix. The GTO is dead, atleast for now. I drive an '05 myself, and I love it! Except for the rear main seal leaking and needing to be replaced twice, but that's a problem on the C6 LS2's, as well.

True, but I consider it more of a replacement for the GTO since it will share many similarities. It will be imported from Australia, and it's a RWD LSX powered V8. Even though it has 4 doors, it's closer to a GTO than a Grand Prix IMO.
