I just traded my 2000 Vette coupe on a 2007 G35 coupe. The Vette was turning into a mechanical nightmare despite only 40k miles and very comprehensive, preventive maintenance. I test drove the G35 with the wife, salesperson, and my son in it and I liked the power. I realize I don't have the torque or HP but I also hope to not have as many trips to the repair facility.

Man oh man, is that thing sorely lacking in power, maybe its ok if you are coming from a Civic, Corolla etc, but after feeling V8 power it is NOTHING. In fact my VW powered Spyder puts it to shame. I understand now why she said "WOW " when we rode to the parts store in a SBC powered car.
WTF, I guess a chick needs a chick's car.
you must not know how to drive a good car .... or too scaretoo.. 350z is the car ......

This is what happens when a 350Z owner goes on another car forum and searches for 350Z threads. They wind up bringing up 16 month old dead threads just to make a fool of themselves with a lame jab post because they are butthurt.

Note to sangaree: Your car is slow. Get over it.

the 350z. by a 350z owner.
ok i know your guys issues. the stock z ia kinda low on power, not that low but no 350-400 hp. that why mine is supercharged. it is about 10k cheaper than a corvette. its 60-0 stopping distance is about 20 ft less. the tranns and rear end are bullet proof. also i have only one problem where it needed to go to service. i had a recall on a bolt on the rear end. and it has is wonderful to own. the girls like it, kids think they are cool, i cant complain. but what i do want is 1000hp and that's why i want a vet

I'd give you the option to ride in my supercharged C5, but I wouldn't want you messing up my passenger seat.

Compared to which vette? A quick check with edmunds.com says the base 2005 vette stops in 114ft and the 2005 350Z in 112ft. If you are comparing to an older vette, your price comparison goes out the window.

i compared the stock c5 coupe to a track 350z both where 2004. the track 350z came with the larger brembos. and that's what i got.

Sorry but the 350Z is far from a chicks car. The 350z can run high 13s for the 03-06 models and low 13s for the 07+ models, that isn't slow and that is faster than a VW.

New ones run low 13s at 105+ mph.

I don't think so. Mustangs began in 1964 and the 240Z in 1969.

Mustangs were not a sports car and never were considered one. They are Muscle cars. The Z, the Corvette, are sports cars. Cars made to handle and do everything good.

Who said anything about being a sports car? Nobody. And very few Mustangs could be considered muscle cars anyway. They are pony cars. But it's beside the point.

You're reeeeaaaaaaaallllly stretching it there. By the same logic, you could say the Impala goes back to the '40's. Sure, it was a different car by a different name, but that's the same thing you're doing trying to call the old Datsun 1500, or Fairlady, the same car as the 240Z. The Bel Air and then Impala was a evolution of the car with a new name, no different than the Datsun 1500 was to the 240Z. How is it even different than saying the Taurus goes back to 1906? They just called it a Model T back then, but it's just the evolution of Ford's affordable family transport. Sorry dude, the Datus 1500 is NOT a Z car, just as a Model T is NOT a Taurus. You change the name and chassis and you have a new car. The 240Z was definitely a new car. Everything about it was different including the name, which is all that really matters considering we are talking about which nameplate has been in America for the longest time.
