2020 C3 of the Year Finalist - Modified
plaster How'd he do the bird - just backlit and cut out the outline?
Former '01 'Hawk owner here as well.
Former '01 'Hawk owner here as well.
somehow he found a clear license plate cover for the front....painted it with the outline of the bird left clear......then he built a circuit board with l.e.d.'s in the outline of the bird and mounted it behind it......i think that's how he told me he did it....maybe i can get him to chime in here....
and to the supporting guys:
thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one on here that enjoys driving, looking at, knowing about, and owning other cars besides a vette. Don't get me wrong, i love my vette (and the new and old ones) and working on it and everything that goes along with it.....well, except for the cocky, "i own a vette" attitude some owners have.

Hmm, I have a shot gun that's 100 years old this year. Maybe I should put that up. Relax, I wouldn't do that, but I'm tempted.

I hate to get rid of it but between the hawk the 08 Trailblazer SS and the 03 Hayabusa, there's no need to keep it.
Thanks bro for trying to help me out with selling the hawk!
A big thank you to all the people that like the hawk, wished me luck selling it and can understand that there's lots of cars out there to appreciate. It's very much appareciated!
To the people that think they're apparently so much better than me because I own a rare Firehawk with lots of electronics (ahem, Vettebuyer5869 & kenba), I give you a teeny tiny wee bit of thanks to you for keeping my post on the top of thread list. There's apparently a little bit of jealously of the hawk just because it's obvious that you felt the need to post multiple times on this thread! THANKS!
As far as the illuminated front plate, Ryan's got it pretty much. Basically painted the front, added a chrome overlay and built a board with 196 white 6000mcd LEDs behind it. Been on there for over 3 years in rain & shine and works like a charm.

No thanks, I need to get a little more than that. Maybe 13K would work if I put it all back to stock though?
