Shelby Mustang minus the supercharger
Pardon my ignorance... but let's say the Shelby GT500KR (or any other recent shelby/cobra) had the same engine but without the forced induction.
what are you left with? just a normal Mustang GT engine? How much HP?
What is it, a DOHC engine ?

The Mustang GT uses a 4.6 liter single over head cam engine where the Shelby GT500 has a dual over head cam 5.4 liter. So to answer your question that if you removed the blower from the Shelby you would not have a normal GT engine.

You'd still have a pig, but with far less power.
Actually it's a great engine, Ford just needs to find way to drop about 500 lbs of lard from the car.

also, the crank and pistons in the GT500 are forged.. (they went to powdered metal rods in it, from the Forged H beam rods used in the 03/04 Cobra, but seem to hold a lot of power)
