Big whoop. The car is a total pig at lower rpms and is boring around town. Drop in a 500rwhp LS3 into that S2k and it's a whole nother beast(provided you can keep the weight distributed somewhat evenly).

I came from imports with small high revving engines and turbos. Once I got into the LSX motors, there was no turning back. Sold the Rx7 and 240sx, and into a boosted C5 now. Not to mention way less trouble mechanically.

Former import driver here too. An i'll never go back to small displacement. The way the V8 releases power just doesn't compare

Lol ^^^ but it won't be too bad probably, a ecu/car interface, subframe, an few tidbits can't be that bad.

I am curious as to the rear end build up on v8 swap S2000's, as I've understood from most people that they are a weak point.

But speaking of the LSx, I'm doing all the homework to put a LSx block into a particular import car that will have people screaming bloody murder... 2JZGTE homage destruction. Domestic or nothing when it comes to powertrains and giant daily pump gas numbers.

I've seen LS1's in RX7's, 240sx's, Miatas, lexuses, 300zx's, even R34 Skylines! Haven't seen any in a Supra but I''m sure somebody has either done one or started on it.

I saw the big LSX one.

threadjack: after my recent fiasco with a certain popular supra shop, I'm gonna sell the I6 and put a reliable engine in there after I get some models made up in a CAD program and budget okay'd. Sheesh, I guess I'm not used to the world of always saying "It's in the shop getting tuned." /threadjack

I like to see the LSx S2000's, it's really like a mouse with a big bite. I really wanna see one go hog wild and do a solid axle swap to really screw with people's minds.

If anything, around town is where it's a blast. It doesn't have a ton of power up top (at speeds), but in "city speeds", say up to 45-50MPH, the close ratios (and 4:10 final drive) make for a lot of fun. It's really kinetic, lots of steering input, shifting (best shifter on the planet) - kind of like a shifter kart

I thought I remember someone else who did a LSX swap (it was just an LS1) say it wound up being ~80lbs heavier in the front, but that might have been with some weight added to the rear (diff, battery relocation, etc.) vs. just an outright delta. The F2X actually sits behind the front axle for a FM type configuration, not sure how the LSX will sit.

Here's a pic from a LSX-into-an-S2K project, looks pretty solid:
