I still like it but definitely like the looks of the Ferrari and Lexus more.

I think the Louvers are dating. Most of the cars getting around here have the side burns and I'm over them as well. The back 1/4 looks a little like the TT and it doesn't flow for me but I'm sure others will like it. It's much better in the flesh but I just don't think it's a winning design. Stewy

I love the R8. Mine would have to be blue with the v10. It's my dream car.

I think if the final version were based upon this model, some of the weird-looking features would have to be "calmed" a bit. When I showed this picture to my nephew, he commented that there is a limit as to how large wheels/tires can be before they look a bit rediculous, and this car is going too far in that regard. I agree. Besides, why not use smaller, lighter wheels/tires for either more speed/faster acceleration or for less horsepower and better gas mileage. It does take more horsepower to spin giant 21-inch wheels/tires and just because some people thinks it looks cool? - makes no sense.

I saw a silver one in person recently and it was absolutely beautiful. It doesn't always come across very well in photos, though.

My only complaint is the old standby---too heavy. It has an amazing powertrain, but the weight keeps it down to base Z06 performance levels.

Weight is a problem for all performance cars but I thought GM have done a good job of shredding weight on the last few generation Corvettes. I always worry when companies use exotic light weight materials it gets passed on to the purchaser. It just becomes tooooo expensive. Gm could make the Vette a feather but I don't want to pay Ferrari prices ! It has to be a balance and at the moment it's cheaper to put some cubes into it to shift the brut ! Stewy

Default Over the top

Why do manufacturers think that "over the top styling "will make the car a success.
GM never went nuts with the Corvette styling,it just looked cool to most people.
My prediction Audi R8 might last 5-6 years.
The Viper was over the top in my opinion and it's gone after 10 years of laclustre sales.
My $0.02

The Viper is not dead. It has also been arond since 1992. A little more than 10 years.

I agree not a good design, went to look at one today as a future replacement for my c6 and was dissapointed. The C7 looks so much better its not even funny!
