Pulling Codes on '08 Silverado

Anyone know how to pull the codes on a 2008 Silverado w/5.3?

Can they be displayed on the DIC like on the corvette?

Nope...have to get a code reader.

Ended up having the local parts store pull them. Was just a misfire.

Unreal they can be displayed on the dash.

Sadly, C6s can't even display their codes.

I can't think of any modern OBDII system that displays DTCs. I thought that all died out with the old OBDI stuff.

My 2000 C5 (OBD2) displays them. Its baloney they stopped doing that. Hard to believe you can't even count flashes like OBD1. Even my home furnace will blink out error codes.

If you have Advance Auo by you, use online promo code buy your own reader/eraser. $40

Any good tuning package like HPT gives control of codes as well.
