Default 1955 Nomad corvette owner

Long time member with a nice Corvette collection! Excuse me for going out of the box for a moment but I have question about my 1955 Nomad that is factory Corvette interior plus were all Chevrolet guys right I tried to go to Tri-Five forum but they suck *** way to busy! My question is: The 1955 Chevrolet started being built aproxamently Sept 1954 in making 1955 cars however the Nomad did not start assembly until Feb 1955 I am wondering about my Vin number to figure out if my 1955 Nomad is a early or late car. I now Vin sequential started 1001 but there was five months of assembly on 1955 Chevrolets before the Nomad came out so did the Nomads have there own sequential numbers. There was 1,500,000 1955 Chevrolets Built; My Nomad sequential #200026

About the only relationship between the Chevrolet passenger-car Nomad introduced in 1955 and the Motorama show car Corvette Nomad was the roofline that appeared the same (but was dimensionally different). I am not aware of any Nomad with a "factory Corvette interior", so I'm not sure what you are describing. Photos would help.

Your right the 56, 57 Corvette waffle seats, stainless and Daytona carpet interior is from the 55 Nomad and now you are aware Interiors are very similar one year only 55. The focus on the thread was the vin #::confused2

I haven't owned a Tri-Five in quite a few years; I use to own a 56' Delray Club Coupe. In researching my car, I seem to remember that each assembly plant used their own sequence numbers and may have built cars at different rates.

Where was your car assembled?

Assembled in St louis; thank you for your response. It is complicated because of the assembly of the Nomad 5 months after normal cars built.

The Nomads didn't have their own sequence numbers, they were treated like any other model in that line-up. Based on your sequence numbers for the St. Louis Assembly plant, it looks like your car was started on Thursday, Jul 14, 1955. The first VIN started that day was 200007.

I dug through my old info. Here is the source that I used; it provides daily VIN inof for each plant.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much that's perfect. I thought it might be a late car! The original radiator is in the car it has G date code so verifies my thoughts it was just that ViN was unusual with 00026 but the 2 infront was what threw me. Thanks again for your time. Deano

I'm glad it helped. The G date code matches nicely with the July 14th build date; I wouldn't be surprised if you found some parts with an F date code on the car as well since it was the 9th workday of the month.

I've always been a Tri-Five fan; especially Nomads. Post a pic when you get a chance.
