Unfortunately all true points but things I gladly (or sadly however you look at it) concede to the 911 vs my Vette mostly due to my ability to afford it. My brother's ridiculously loaded up Carrera S PDK with Sport Chrono package was an incredible car and I probably should have just bit the bullet and bought it when he traded it in on a Lambo. Everything about that car was so well integrated and launch control is simply spectacular. While some say they would only consider a V8 in sports car that car with the sport exhaust sounds amazing. Not Lambo V10 amazing but I would take the flat 6 noise that car makes over the V8 in my Vette anytime. While I love the sound a V8 can make it is really no different than my Yukon XL was sporting a Magnaflow exhaust. One excellent sounding truck but now I somewhat find myself comparing my Vette noises to that truck I had for several years.

Do I love my Vette? Yes, I still think it is a bargain of a sports car whether you are talking base, Z51,GS, Z06 or ZR-1. It provides a ton of sports car value for the money but there are many sports car attributes that competitive cars have that I think can and do justify their price tags......

I did one of these a few years back. It's a great little event they do, you do a lap in each of 4 cars around the track in a follow the leader type setting. You dont push the cars, but you do get to have a bit of fun. You drive base and s versions of the Cayman and 911. They also do a little autocross course with the panamera.

Its a fun time. The most impressive part for me was these cars are getting run with ac on full blast in the hot sun for the entire day, and all of them stayed cool. We did ours at Homestead and it was about 90000 degrees out that day.

Why not if it is free and you have time. It reads as a nice motoring event and I suppose what they are really trying to do is sell you the Porsche "experience".

Look at it this way...how much would it cost you if you wanted to rent that experience... 1K 2K...?

You can't even buy a GT2 RS even if you had 300k. Most of them are specced out with lots of options AND you have dealer mark up (good luck finding a GT2 RS at MSRP).

Someone has to have at least 400k to plunk down to get into a GT2 RS, probably even more as they are very scarce right now.

But for the money yes the Z06 is great performance/$ bargain. But Porsche is good cars too, they are not just about pure power/weight, also interior and the feel of the car. Take up the offer and experience it, you never know how you will change your mind...

Pretty cool, but what did you pay for your Z06?

Doubt they'll let you drive a GT2, but if they do you'll burn your Z to the ground before having to drive it again.

But he paid $78k for his Z06 which was $89,570 msrp that will outpace a GT2RS on the track.

1.5 months ago in mid-August I bought a 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo S. Simply stated the car is nothing short of incredible and the P Car will sell itself to you once you drive it! Trust me.

Plus 1

From some1 who has had several ZO6's (2017 ZO7 most recent), Porsche delivers a car with an incredible driver experience (current GT3/see avatar). Lap times done by pro's are somewhat of a measurement of the cars performance-true, but in most cases with most guys are absolutely meaningless. Stop setting yourself up to be disappointed and just go with an objective outlook and enjoy.

That's great guys who bought Porsche love them. I hope anybody who buys any expensive car loves them. My brother loves Porsche and that's what he bought. I never liked the look of Porsche and that's why I ordered a Vette. Porsche make awesome cars but we all have different opinions and preferences. This is a Corvette forum so there will be lots of Corvette bias. I'm sure if any guys here want a Porsche they can go to a Porsche dealer and check them out.

OP would disagree based on the fact he paid $73k for a Vette.
