I don't think he was playing. People who can really diagnose problems have almost disappeared now that everybody thinks the OBD II port will tell them everything they need to know. I think your friend is doing a better job. At least he's doing some actual tracking of what's causing the draw. I also think as others have said, your battery has taken too many hits to fully recover in this cold weather.
