There's a way to have a discussion without putting down or attempting to antagonize other people.

some members just don't get that... at some point they will.. hopefully sooner than later a bell qill go off in their head...

I think that the new GT 500 is going to be awesome car. It'll be ridiculously overpriced but the msrp will be on point. Dealers will make a killing from their faithful.

it's not in the same category as a Corvette at least not for me it's not a small low to the ground super handling sports car that is borderline exotic it's more of a bruiser like a hellcat wide body or ZL1.

The C7Z even an M7 with stage III aero go mid 150s. Heck Deb ran her red C7Z06 M7 bones stock and went 157...

Numerous C7Z owners in the mid to high 150s stock.
Shoot you're right. 146-147 vs 152-154. My bad. I still hold my point that the c7Z is too heavy.

Yeah. Its the progression of these cars man. The C6Z was an amazing car. Just like i think the C7Z will still be relefected upon when the C8Z is a couple years old. At least to fams of FE design like myself.

The mustang will always be relevant as well. Ford dors a good job with the faithfuls demands.

The camaro aside from aesthetics to many (im color dependent some look great others show the 25k rental it's based on imo) is an amazing handler, driver and value. Good times.

Okay buddy. I have a mechanical engineering degree too.

No one gives a **** about 0-60 nowadays. Specially since you replied to my comment specifically against 0-60. Btw. The c7 z06 is a ******* heavy parachute for a 2 door sports car. That's why the c6z runs the same 1/2 mile speeds. With 150 less hp.

Get your head out of the dirt. The z06 isn't a god.

Did I open a text book? No, pal, I did this stuff for a living --- what about you? Bring your comparative analysis of energy application and the physics involved --- I'm ready for you.

I'm just not sure which is worse --- your arrogance or your ignorance..

You look up words for a living? You could have just said "the power to weight ratio doesn't make that possible" but you had to act like a jackass.

We'll just wait and see. By the way, 2013 gt500s 60-130 times are 7.9 seconds from multiple people. That's just about the same time a stock c7 Z06 runs.

I personally know a Shelby GT500 Supersnake 900hp owner (2012) - which happens to be 1 of 3 widebody Supersnakes in Canada. He is selling it. He prefers his C7 Z06 and ZL1 1LE.

Take that for what you think it's worth.

That guy didnt even provide any data. LOL
BTW, bruno, where do you get the 60-130 times? I want to see what the Viper and Viper ACR has run.

Right now it's speculation that the new GT500 will be quicker than a c7 z06 (straight line). Using the hellcat as a comparison, the GT500 just may beat a c7z in straight line performance. The hellcat weighs nearly 1000lbs more, with what 57hp more?

Compare that to the GT500 weighs nearly 600lbs more (if the gt500 weighs in excess of 4200lbs), and has 110hp more, faster shifting DCT, and not an aerodynamic brick like the challenger. Power to weight ratio on the GT500 will be superior to the hellcat. Ford will have failed if they do not beat a heavy hellcat in performance.

I'm excited for the GT500. It just means the other brands have to compete and raise the bar further.

I just googled it. Vipers are in the 7.3-7.8 range depending if you start already in 2nd gear or shift 1-2 right at 60.

I am waiting for the dynamics charts on the vehicle speed based on the slope of the acceleratron combobulator on the tire dimensionometer.

It's hard to believe the gt500 will be that heavy. The Challenger hellcat is 4450 lbs while the Challenger srt8 is 4250-4300 lbs. So a 150-200 lb gain for the supercharger etc.

The gt350 is 3700-3750 lbs. So I'd expect the gt500 to be 3900-4000 lbs. That's about 400 lbs more than the z06.

Just merely lb/hp, Z06 is at 5.5 lbs / hp. Gt500 would be 5.2 lbs / hp, which is better.

4200 lbs puts it right 5.5 lbs/hp. That's not talking about transmission ratios, aerodynamic drag, powertrain loss, traction, blah blah blah.

In case some of you have not seen this yet. Teenager drives his brand new gt500 over 1,000 miles to a dragstrip and eventually runs a 10.6 ET in showroom stock condition with OEM tires. It's just un-American not to be totally impressed by this.

Neat story bro. My blacked out stripe delete R gets a TON of attention and everybody loves the sound. They KNOW it's a different animal. Ya your average know nothing person won't be able to see it for what it is but that same person can't recognize a Z51 from a Z06 either.

Do you whine in every secretary car thread... You do know this is the real American sports car forum right? There are plenty of secretary car forums out there I 'd wager.

....

We know you way better that you know us.
