I contemplated going YOLO and getting a 2-3 year old loaded Tahoe, taking it to AMP and having them drop in an well set up LT4 with 800-900hp for a daily. The only thing that really stopped me was that it wouldn't fit in my downtown townhouse garage. Even I couldn't justify $150k for that thing.
I know it's not apples to apples, but I'd rather just get a Tahoe for $70k and spend $25k on it.
The 500hp SQ7 is only $90k (though, I firmly believe Audi is straight garbage quality).
$150k is absurd. An X5M starts at 105k. (553hp, 1200lbs lighter, and nicer imo)
An AMG GLS63 is the $135k (603hp, 300lbs lighter) and way nicer.
Cayenne Turbo S (smaller, I know) is 541hp, 1200lbs lighter, much sportier and $125k.
Comparing it to it's competitors, I just can't see it. I get it's ~670hp and these are less, but it's also much heavier and frankly, probably has worse performance than all of them except the Audi (which is nearly half its price). If not worse, I bet it's darn close. I'd much rather the X5M, personally.
I absolutely love the Escalade V, I'd be in line for one if I didn't need a pick up (sometimes I have to haul things that just wouldn't be right to put in the back of an Escalade). I briefly suggested it to my wife, but that was a non starter. I wasn't really surprised though, I can't even convince her to move from her XT5, up to an XT6, because she thinks the 6 is too big.
I really wish GM would put the V power train in a Denali or Silverado. I'd trade my Denali (which I love) in a blink for a 682 HP Denali V, or SS, or Syclone, or whatever they wanted to call it. Of course they'd probably only offer it with the 5.5' box, like the Denali Ultimate, which would make it nearly useless for me. Even the 6.5' isn't enough for me sometimes.
The '13 'Slade . . . is the Weekend Beater, Family and Junk Hauler, Deep Snow Commuter, and . . .
Baller Status Bragger ( albeit 9 ~ going on 10 years old now ) Vehicle in the Family Fleet
If I wanna $150K Fast Vehicle ~ . . . it aint gonna be a 4 door or a Caddy SUV . . .
This Platinum Edition Stickered at over $70K back in the day . . . Gently used a scored before the Chip Shortage an 8 Ball and Hooker Encounter over $20K . . .
It does the Job and leaves ca$h for moar Baller Experiences, and I aint gonna worry about the thang gettin' door dings at Strip Club's Parking Lot
After 12 Escalade's I got one of these, it's not 700 hp like the new Escalade, only about 600, but 90k vs 150k, that would eat into my Corvette and Porsche funds
The escalade V is sick. Sure it's more money than some.of the euro stuff, but its also bigger, more powerful, actually reliable, and honestly... costing more is part of the game.for these people.
They should make a Tahoe and suburban SS. It's also about darn time they did something cool for an SUV instead of screwing SUV buyers over for stupid truck brodozers.
Everyone with a Hellcat Durango should buy one of these so I can get a Durango Hellcat for less money. And FCA should bring our the Hellcar Durango again and apologize for mistakenly putting those motors into TRXs.

You need a utility trailer. It's like a pickup bed that you don't feel bad using, and tou dont have to take it with you all the time. Also a lot cheaper!

I have trailers, that's part of the reason I have a truck. But I deal in Corvette and first gen Camaro parts, and I'm involved with a Corvette vintage racing team.
I often have brake caliper and steering rack cores, rear ends, trailing arms, etc, in my truck. Or sometimes it's something like my 6 foot tables and tent for a swap meet. At the track I may run dump cans of race fuel to and from the pumps, or throw tires in the back to go get mounted. I recently delivered a customer's 327 to the machine shop I use, and another customer wants me to pick up the engine from his Boss 429, to get it rebuilt. I don't want to be bothered with hooking up a trailer, and towing it around, every time I need to haul something that I can just throw in the back of a truck.
Unlike a lot of truck owners, I actually need to use my Denali as a truck.

Thats fair... but you could do all of that with a small trailer, lol.
It's also a darn shame they don't make sport trucks anymore. If they made a sport truck with a lowered sporty suspension, good power, and the sporty interior one would expect, it'd be enticing. Like a Silverado SS with the lt4. I'd give that some thought vs a tahoe ss. But seems like all the chodes just want them to out it in a zr2 or other brodozer type they can't get up into.

Looks like you got part of your wish here. 😂 I would never sell my Durango for this though.

Yeah, the day they announced the Hellcat Durango was back for 2023 was a good day. Sounds like it might stick around for 24 and maybe 25 too, kinda sounds like they're putting motors that would have been in challys and chargers into dursngos until Durango gets its next gen.
What's not clear to me is how the packages will work. It sounds like you're almost forced into full leather if you want options, whereas the 21 you could get it fully loaded with the alcantara seats. I'm a sucker for alcantara seats, they're just better than leather.
