And what % of people can afford a Model X or whatever, maybe not as high but just as meaningful.
All of that is good but your Model X in 5 years will be worth next to nothing, a Porsche 911 Turbos S lightweight will be worth close to what you paid for, doubt me, look up any special Porsche from 2017.
A 2017 Model X P100D was about $140,000 new, now you can get them for about 50k, so you lose 90k in 5 years, now let's look at 911 Turbo S, a new one was $190k and now they are fetching $150k, losing $40k....hmmmm, cost of ownership over 5 years sure as hell isn't near 50k so there's that.

Now, if I buy a Model X for $120k, I have another $130k to invest. In 5 years, I can make about $75k in return from an $130k investment..

Well what if you are Elon Musk and money was a non issue, whether or not someone can afford the vehicle is irrelevant, it's the numbers aka facts that are the center of discussion. To a poor person neither of the two are within the realm of possibility, to a rich person both are.

way overrated car, nice to look at, maybe borrow a billionaire friend's for an afternoon but other than that, I don't think I would, probably same about a Koenigsegg, I don't find them too aesthetically pleasing and I wouldn't pay 3 mill for their performance.

that's the latest report.. and its adjusted for volume. 7x more fires than some cars with similar production volume.. pretty high Id say. just get yourself nice high quality Nomex clothing and footwear, emergency escape equipment and remember to charge outside!
