Buick Envision for daughter or something else...not too small, not too big.
Looking for a new smaller (but not too small) SUV for daughter. She likes these because the new ones have a huge screen on the dash and they have like 228HP. Ypu can get a new one for around 35K. Thoughts? or something else she should consider. She's had a 2019 Cherokee (not grand Cherokee) with the 2.0 turbo (270HP) It was ok, but they don't make them anymore.
My mom just got a 25 Envision. mainly for the smoked amethyst "purple" paint, lol. Lots of safety tech and she likes it. But only had it a month, we will see. FYI 88% made in china. Engine Mexico, trans china.
Depending on her driving, there are still some silly lease deals on EVs...2-3 year lease for $6-8K; almost zero maintenance. Otherwise, I'd go Honda HRV or CRV if it's something she'll own 5+ yrs.

Another option could be a Mazda CX-30. We had the slightly larger sibling (CX-5) for about 3 years, and the car was nearly perfect (I say "nearly", because the OE tires wore out after about 35K miles). The interior punches above its weight with materials & design, and the 2.5L Turbo is plenty fast for the vehicle (255HP in the CX-5). Mazda has really upped their game in the last 5-10 years.

+ 1,000.
I directed my 16-year-old towards a new is350. We test drove one of the entry level Buick SUVs and it was very cheap and I'm also very much against products which originate from China.
You can check out the brand new Subaru Forester for well under 35k well-equipped imported from Japan since nowadays even domestic vehicles are not completely manufactured here.
My adult (?) daughter is car shopping and absolutely must have a Mercedes or else she will die of embarrassment around her social circle.
I'm trying steer her toward lowest cost GLA250, low 40s, or GLB250, high 40s. She seems to be stuck on GLC300, low 50s, or about $600 lease payment. I think this one has 255hp.
I first tried steering toward Chevy Trax low 20s or Trailblazer mid 20s but those were nonstarters for the social circle.

BMW X1 would be my pick there. Maybe get the M35I model. The Mercedes are just cheap inside comparatively.
I guess this explains a lot about how she'd die if she didn't get a Mercedes. My parents sure as **** didn't give me money for down payments on cars. They did buy me my first car, a $2k explorer that needed work but man did I love that car cuz it drove lol.

Must it be new? If she was happy with her previous Cherokee, maybe a low mileage 2021 Limited model with a V6? I’ve seen several AWD ones at CarMax, single owner, fully loaded with around 25k miles, for about $26k. They’ll deliver (for a non refundable fee) for a no obligation inspection and test drive, and if purchased you can add their extended warranty for peace of mind protection. Members of our family have owned 3 similar ones and loved them. No issues with any of them and just routine maintenance. The V6 is the only engine I’d be interested in though.
I have a 2023 CX5 Turbo. I have 22k miles logged and I'm fairly happy with it. Stereo system is very good. Headlights are adaptative and turn with steering input which really helps with night driving with I do a lot of. Interior is nice but compared the my wifes Hyundai Tuscon my seats are hard. Overall no complaints but wish the MPGs were better. This time of year I'm seeing 23mpg. Summer I might see 27. It runs good when you need to go but it needs more gears for mpgs.
I recently had a 2025 Buick Enclave as a loaner while my Caddy was in the shop. I really liked it except for the Buick name plate it was a great mid size 3-row SUV daily driver
