Hi Walter, I have the car running again with the new cam installed. The oil pressure issue I ran into is also solved, that was a RPITA It's one of those things that has one doubting their ability as to what happened. I knew that physically there was nothing wrong with the engine but one has to cross every T and dot every I, which meant I tore into the engine 3 times in search of the cause of the low oil pressure issue. It turns out that the cause was the lifters that I used, which upon inspection shows nothing as every lifter mic'd exactly the same as the OE LS7 lifters, there is no outward differences. The only thing I can think of that caused the oil pressure issue is there is something screwey with the internal oil metering of the lifters. I know of many users that never had a problem and a couple that did but not the same problem as mine.

As for the camshaft, it is still a LARGE cam, in fact its actually bigger in intake duration than the last cam but because of the lobe seperation difference I actually reduced the overlap by 5 degrees which in turn the engine gained 5 inches of engine vacuum. The idle sounds pretty nasty, it drives fairly well, and pulls away from stops easily in first gear and even in third if I wanted to. But there is still some cam surge in the low speed ranges, I can tune it out but its a band aid if I do this. I am going to drive the car for a little bit and then make a decision to either keep it or tear into it again and swap it out. I can tell you that this cam simply RIPS, blasting through the gears now can only be described as exhilerating This cam would make a great track cam as it pulls like a scalded dog

Tom,
Which cam are you using? ported intake, TB and heads?

Still looking for time and $$$ before I can come down.
