Default Window Tint

I was thinking of having window tint installed. Is there any laws in Washington on the tint?

The legal maximum for the tint is 35% in Washington.

Yep....as said....there are laws....

The people doing the tint will know. Plus they provide you with a document stating you are "legal".....carry it with you.

Or......go with Limo tint and take your chances....plus, good luck seeing out!

I went with 50% back and little windows, 35% front windows..

35% is max in Oregon, but I'll be in Cali for a few years..

Yeah, it's 35%, but I have 20% on my back window and 35% on the sides.

I thought that side window tint (at least the front doors) in CA is illegal, but you can have tint on the hatch window.

As said above "legal" limit is 35%, however there are shops that will do whatever you wish for cash.

I have had 20% on other cars for about 8-years now and never been stopped for it.
On the corvette, I had the tint shop put on 30% just so the LEO doesn't have two reasons (vette & tint) to pull me over. I think the 30% tint is perfect.
I've been pulled over for speeding (warning only) and the trooper never even mentioned my tint. He only commented on how nice my vette is.

I had mine done at Prestige window tinting in Lynnwood and was very impressed by the job he did; the rear glass took quite a while to shrink in order to get it wrapped around the rear glass but it came out great.

I've got a '79 C3.There are a couple tinters in my neck of the woods,in Mt Vernon & Burlington -Im in Anacortes- that I am not familiar with as far as the quality of work.So I thought I'd ask around. I,as U know, have the same shape rear window, but it doesnt open at all,so probly not an easy task.Thinking $400 for just the back, probly

I'm running 5% sides and rear.
No driving at night and only sunny day driving.
I was able to get a doctor's statement approving the tint because of skin cancer concerns.
Never been stopped in a year and a half.
It matches the wheels and the privacy is great.

We live in Washington. I never see the sun enough to worry about tint. Maybe I am missing something.
