Default Les Schwab batteries

Any experience out there? Their Extreme Plus unit has:

24-month free replacement warranty
84-month limited warranty
590-900 cold cranking amps

Installed for around $130.

I'm still on the factory original from 03/06, but with summer travel planned, figure to go ahead replace.

I purchased a battery from them several years ago for my Porsche. No longer have the car but it was still working just fine when I sold it.

Given your road trip plans it might be useful to remember there are a lot of Les Schwab stores out there.

Indeed, one of the reasons I'm considering them. We're headed to Whistler the end of this month, however, and don't think they're in Canada.

The last couple batteries I have had came from 1st Interstate Batteries. Always had good performance and lasted a long time. No experience with Les Schwab.

The top Sears Die Hard Platinum is made by Odyssey and one of the best Batts out there. I'd look into them before anything else...

Personally I like the optima batteries with the coil technology. If you are into saving weight, you can get a lightweight gel battery.

I lent my forklift to Les Schwab for a week and they put in a new battery for me about 10 years ago. I thought it was a good trade. Still going strong. I would say that they have as good of a battery as anyone. Most all are made exactly the same with the exception of the coils. I believe that Napa carries a coil battery as well. There are more Napa stores in the US than Les Schwabs.

I just bought a new battery for my 2006 Yukon Denali from the GMC dealer, came with a replacement warranty of 36 month, prorated after that to 72 months. Price is about the same. Since it was a direct replacement battery, the case is molded perfectly to accept all of the battery hold-down points.

Costco sells a good battery for great price with an exceptional warranty (I got a full 7 years out of both in my truck). But I put the high end Diehard Platinum (Odyssey) in the Vette.Only problem with the Diehard are the terminals are backwards but it will fit.

I would go with an Optima if they make one to fit your vehicle. It is a 10 to 15 year battery if you take care of it.

I would stay away from anything from Les Schwab. Stay with factory AC Delco, Interstate, or Optima Red or Yellow top and you can't go wrong.

Dont mean to intervene here, but if you check out the manufacture of almost all the batteries that have been mentioned they are all made by the same company!!!!

Les Schwab Batteries are ok for my mini van and such. For my Corvette, Optima Red is the way to go.
