Quit whining. If you've been here as long as you claim, you are no longer allowed to bitch about it. At least your paint isn't fading, your dash doesn't have any cracks and no venomous snakes are hiding in your wheel wells. Oh, and your A/C isn't worn out.
Oil Change? Depends on whee you take it. All mine have been done by the local dealer and range from $75 to $100 or so.
My local dealer (Lee Johnson Chevy) charges about $17 + parts. I bring my own oil and filter. Well, I actually change my Corvette's oil myself, but use the dealer for my SUV.
I finished washing mine yesterday as well. Put a fresh coating of Aqua Pel on the windshield and have a fairly recent coat of wax on the paint and get to watch the water bead off my car like it's being repelled when I drive it all winter.
I grew up in Anchorage and that was winter. Beautiful white for 5-6 months a year followed by a very messy break-up in April. You could usually start driving your vette in May and enjoy it through Sept./Oct. before the snows came again. It's all perspective.
I hear ya! I also hate winter, it is very depressing. On this side of the mountains we don't get much rain or snow. We have over 300 days of sunshine, but when we do have a bad day, it is depressing!

Figure on approximately $7 per quart for 5W-30 full synthetic (takes 6 quarts) and $6-7 for a decent filter.
Do not go thru one of the drive-thu places! Not only will they push hard for performing additional services but they have been known to strip the threads on the oil pan drain and some have even forgotten to properly install the filter. We've done 3 replacement engine at the shop due to these places screwing things up.
I finished washing the car today just in time for it to start raining. I hate the rain.
I have lived in this soggy state for over 30 years and I'm sick of it. The rest of my family is in Arizona enjoying sunny 80 degree weather.
Owners in California/Arizona don't have to worry about storing their Corvettes for the Winter, because they don't a have one!
Anyway, once it clears up I'm taking the Vette in for an oil change. How much should I expect to pay for said service?
What's your location, some of us have lifts in our garages and if your close all you have to do is bring your own oil and filter and you can do it yourself, with help if you need it.
Hey, we could be back East like "Virginia" Boy are they getting hit!
Born and raised in So Cal and then to Maui for 10yrs. Miss the great weather, but Oregon and WA are beautiful!! Our Vettes are our daily drivers and in garage only when it snows (but then we are in middle between Portland and Salem)l

I'm in Olympia.
It would be fun to learn about my car. I just bought it a few weeks ago.
However, I haven't performed an oil change for a very long time.

When you want to do it,I'm out at summit lake. I'm busy tonite, tomorrow,I could Wednesday, but only during the day. Thursday I'm wide open, day or night.
Should I buy Mobile 1 oil? Do I need any particular oil filter?
Yep get mobile1 5w-30 and either a fram severe duty or a mobile 1 filter, just don't buy the cheapest, although any filter would work, just get a good one. Do you want to do it during the day or night, doesn't matter to me.

I don't like driving at night, because my headlights suck.
Oh, yeah. Rich said that there is an oil leak near the pan. I saw oil on my driveway and it reminded me.

Well lets look into changing the pan gasket,I'll look at my Manuel for my 99 and see if it can be done on a 4 post lift, should be able to,I wouldn't want to have to drop anything more than the pan though..what's everyone say on here for ease of doing a pan gasket? As long as we don't have to drop the front cradle I'm all for doing it,I'll look and see what's all involved, maybe you can look and a see if a pan gasket is available.
The Corvette shop out on Black Lake might have one.
Another complaint: pine needles
My Vette sits outside and those f**king pine needles get everywhere!
Ok I looked also, most people think that it's not a pan gasket leak, best case it's just a loose bolt,or it's leaking elsewhere,I say we get it on the lift, clean it up,do the oil change, check the torque on the bolts and see if any are loose, look at other places for leaks. We can also clean your radiator out some,I've done mine with compressor air, what time are you thinking you want to come out,do you know where summit lk is?

I just want to say it is great to see people offering up there time and garage to help out!
I went to a get together a few months ago and the guy has a large shop with a lift and also offered to let anyone there use it anytime. The wealth of information and resources on this forum is priceless!
I grew up in the Mojave desert where it rained 5 inches a year then moved here in 1991...How about the extended summer!! I do not hate the rain but sometimes it can seem to never end. I have a 2002 Z06 daily driver.
