Default Lacquer repair

The original paint on my 75 is becoming cracked in some areas. Anyone know a repair short of sanding it down and completely repainting? Who still sells compatible lacquer?

NAPA still sells the lacquer paint and the primer.
Have you tried wet sanding with 1000 grid and compound the 3M that napa sells.I just use the buffer and course ,medium and polish and most of the surface will come back.I find lacquer is the easy paint to work with .

When they took the lead out of lacquer it killed the paint.. I would not waste my time trying to save an old lacquer job.. If you want it to have a nice paint job to last, strip it off, seal with epoxy and start there.. Not what you wanted to hear I know
