Default What is the "best for the $" paint gun?

We need to spray a couple of dually fenders and then do some work on the vette later in the year. What are the good guns to look at?
Thank you,
rg

Just found an earlier thread with the info I need. Thanks anyway.

Default SATA is best overall

You can't go wrong buying a SATA. Their guns last seemingly forever, and really deliver a nice pattern. However, they tend to be a little pricey. A friend of mine bought a Devilbis to repaint his car, and I was pretty impressed with its performance/options/price. He is a member of the forum and his user name is Sperkins. Do a search for him and contact him as I can't remember the model number of the gun he bought. It will probably better suit your needs and budget rather than laying out a premium for a SATA.

I hate to hijack the thread this way, but try this one too. The price is right (!) and I bought it for just the tip. Turns out the gun was really easy to use, and did very well. If yours is off, just buy another one and mix and match parts...

I really think that this is a reliable and good gun if you are just going to do a gew jobs. Mine works great and is also a lot more economical on the air then the SATA, an important point.

Look into a finish line3, sprays very nice, (almost as good as my $500 gun) and the cost is decent. Just make sure your air can handle it.

I've been using Devilbiss for years now. For the money you can't go wrong. True Sata is a great gun but for the money you get more with a Devilbiss. The kicker is it comes complete with multiple tips. Shop around and you can find fantastic deals.

I just bought a pair of Finish Line 3's off of Fleabay, 130.00 each with three tips each and free shipping. Really a nice gun without spending a ton of money. David

Barry Kives at Southern Polyurethanes Inc. (SPI) sometimes does a group purchase on spray guns. He is currently taking names for people interested in a purchase. I'm not sure if it is strictly for the Iwata guns or others as well. The Iwata LPH-400 seems to the choice of guns on the SPI forum. Just ping Barry if you are interested or post your interest on the SPI forum under General Information.
