I'm splicing in another couple of home-made epoxy resin fiberglass parts on my C5. This time I'm using all house of kolor products. Here's how I'm doing everything:
1) I'm bonding the parts to the car with LORD Fusor's product line (all epoxy based materials), Fusor stuff worked well on my flares.
2) after getting the parts, joints etc flat, level and smooth, I'm going to spray 3-5 coats of HOK epoxy primer (per their material sheet).
3) I'll block the epoxy and assuming I find low spots, fill with Rage Gold (poly filler) being sure only to apply rage over the epoxy.
4) block the panels/filler.
5) spray 3 more coats of HOK epoxy primer.
6) block panels again, repeat steps 3,4 & again if needed.
From the OP's procedure, he is only applying Rage filler over epoxy primer which is the correct procedure.
Again, correct Scott. And that's what I wanted to make sure of, that I can sandwich some poly filler in between epoxy primer. Since that appears to be true, when I'm redoing most of the car down the road . . .
. . . can I spray a high build poly over the epoxy, block it flat and hit the car again with more epoxy, block it one more time with a finer grit, spray sealer, base, graphics and clear?
I'll start a new thread this afternoon and post pics of what I'm doing and where I am at in the project.
