Best bang for the money is SPI epoxy. You can call Barry K at SPI to confirm if your 5 star products are compatible. SPI also makes a nice 2K high build primer, and excellent color and clear coats. http://www.southernpolyurethanes.com...ct%20lines.htm
thank you very much, because of you i called SPI and found that i have a supplyer only minutes from me. they have the epoxy primer on hand, RED - WHITE and GREY. lucky me. SPI also said that the 5 star 2k primer i have will be campatible. can i use the SPI Epoxy on my corvette's metal now as a etcher for the 5 star product ? will a gallon be enough? and should i seal the 2k primer before base coat / clear coat
Yes, use the SPI over your metal parts and remember these products have a working window of about 7 days before they need to be coated with the next product. If you need any questions answered during your project you can call Barry's cell 7 days a week.
For best results your should reduce the epoxy as a seal coat and top coat your 2K high build. If you are shooting your car red, use the white primer to make the red really pop. Also one gallon of epoxy is mixed one to one so you end up with two gallons of epoxy.
For application I like to apply it with a 1.7 tip, for seal coats a 1.4 tip.
