Default Need Advice on Damage

I have an 05 LMB coupe...

I tried to avoid hitting a deer but hit a rock on the right side of the road..

Here is my question... I need a new right front wheel & tire, also the rock put a small 3" crack in the lower portion of the wheel-well.. and did some damage to the right side rocker panel..

The insurance Co. OK's a new fender, & rocker panel (Total damage $5800)

I'm NOT looking to make any $$ I know I pay the first $500 but would I be better off if I have the body shop just repair the crack in the fender, & paint just this area... because if they replace the fender I'm worried the paint may not be a perfect match near the hood, and door...

If they (Body Shop) just fix the crack the only paint will be at the rear of the wheel-well and not very noticeable ...IF its not an EXACT MATCH...

I think I'd be more comfortable leaving the original fender on it and know all the paint near the hood, and door etc. are exactly the same as the fender..

I have seen other LMB Vetts that had a rear 1/4 repainted and it did not match perfect...

The shop I'm using is supposed to be one of the BEST in Westchester County... & I don't want to go there telling them "their job"

Bottom line do I go with new fender and hope the paint matches.. or fix the 3" crack which is not noticeable and just have that area painted ?

I'd appreciate any replied from someone with "Experience" I'm sick over this the car is an 05 with 9000 miles on it.. and was better than new...

i dont want to go their telling them their job.........

that is not the way to act when having your car fixed by someone else.

you need to ask direct questions on the paint and you tell them you want direct answers for your questions how the paint will match.
they have been painting cars for along time hopfully and will know if their will be a noticable difference.

insurance is paying for the work exept for your 500,but in the end they are working for you.ITS YOUR CAR ASK ANY QUESTION YOU CAN THINK OF AND GO BY THAT TO MAKE YOUR DESISION.talk to them ask alot of questions they wont mind.
they are making 5800.00 they are going to want to do this job to your satisfaction guaranted.

PROFESSIONALLY SPEAKING:
I am a repair shop who deals with insurance companies and customers. They come to me two ways, One where the damage was caused by the owner, and the other where the damage was caused by another person, who's insurance is covering it.

IF your insurance company is giving you NEW parts. And you choose to MODIFY their estimate. It would be in your best interest to notiufy them of your "possible changes". They (insurance companies) have TEETH and will bite you if you try to pull one over on them.

I agree with killere 454. DO NOT hesitate to ask ANY questions about the repairs to your car. I NEVER make a customer feel that their questions are not important....or get an attitude if they ask questions.

I am concerned about the adjacent panels to the fender that is being replaced. I often times get the insurance company to give me time so I can blend these panels and get the color so you can not tell it was painted. It is a JOKE on what they give to blend these panels...in regards to what it ACTUALLY takes to do the job correctly. BUT at least I am getting something and I am taking a hit and loosing time to get the job correct. BUT the way I look at it...IF you are HAPPY. Then you will spread your POSITIVE experience with my shop....and I will get work off of that.

You do have the FINAL say in the repair. IF you are not happy, they should take care of you. YOU should not be forced to take a car that was repaired to the point that you can see it is not like the way it was BEFORE the accident.

I have customers who say that they are VERY PICKY and want the best. Some even pay more out of pocket to make sure that I am covered well and doing the job correctly...because the insurance will not give me the time I need to do it right. I mention to my customers that I am MORE PICKY than they are....and make sure that the job is correct....even if I loose time in it. It all pays off in the end.

Hopefully the shop of your choice is all about CUSTOMER SATISFACTION and QUALITY!!!!!!
To me...these are PARAMOUNT!
