First thing to remember on a vette is about a fifty year old rule.
"Factory paint, re-paint and then must be stripped." Not the same as a metal body car.
So a determination must be made if the car has been repainted before and if not, a close examination as to what the factory paint is doing before proper course of prep can be determined.
As with any quality paint job, you disassemble anything you can get off or apart.
