I have a half gallon of Rage Extreme that seems to have gotten a little thick. I suspect it was from leaving the lid slightly askew with a stir stick in it, during the day while I was working on sanding. It doesn't spread particularly smooth now - takes on a cottege cheese texture fairly quickly even with low levels of hardner. Is it possible to thin Rage with something - a little Acetone maybe? I read the lable carefully but didn't see anything about thinning it.

I don't know what the other's do, but I just thinned some thick Evercoat Rage Gold from the bottom of the can with a little bit of Lacquer thinner. It smoothed out just fine. I've done this other times with no ill affect.
I throw it away, its shelf life is only about 6 months, is it really worth using something that has ben compromised for another $35?
You have now begun to cross the "centerline" in the road and are having headlights coming at you. A big risk for such a low cost item. Me personally...I would use something else entirely....instead of Rage Gold. Fiberglass/Evercoat does make a much stronger filler that rpovides a much stronger, solid repair than Rage gold.
But to each his/her own. Please properly dispose of this product if you are going to throw it away.
A product just for this. However, one person said it works very well but seemed a bit harder to sand. Anyway I'm going to give it a try before spending another $80 bucks or so for a fresh gallon. If you know of where I can buy a gallon of Rage Extreme for anywhere around $35 a gallon - I need to know the place.
Not using it for repairs. Skim coating the body to block out.

Plastic honey will work well for that purpose. We have some in stock for those times when one of our guys forgets to tightly close the lid on a can and the stuff dries out a bit
My 2 cents are with the throw it out camp. Skim coating is a repair, and any fault occurring in the repair will show in the finished product. Might take a month or 6, but it will show. My local NAPA paint jobber sells the .8 gallon can for $56.00... I'd shop around a bit (even online) if you pay that much. I use Evercoat Lightweight, as I find it a bit harder, and 1/3 the price of Rage.
If your going to thin it ask the shop you bought it from, they will get a proper answer from the manufacturer or will tell you to toss it. Take there advise. Me, I'ld toss it!
