brad,
If you plan on using aerosol paint for your Civic. If it is NOT an aerosol paint can product...and is a product that requires you to apply it with a paint gun...Then you might want to re-think the product you want to apply on this Civic for "practice". The only reason I am writing that is because if you get GOOD at shooting that Dupli-Color stuff...and then go off to do your Corvette. I would not want to use that paint on MY Corvette. AND if you change the brand of paint to another...there might be a new "learning curve" taking place. Just my 2 cents worth on that.
AS for body filler. Any good body filler requires the use of a hardener.. and that is that. SO you will have to learn how much to add and how to mix and apply the stuff...because there is NO MIRACLE PRODUCT in a can that does not take some finesse to working with and figuring out. The depth of the dent makes a difference in what product to use...and MOST require removing the paint to make sure that it will adhere.
Seeing how you have not filled out your "public profile"...so at least I (we) would know what city and state you live in...so that if you live in a large city, which would more than likely carry different brands...so you do not have to have paint shipped in. It is hard to tell you what manufacturer of paint to buy due to not knowing which manufacturers you have access to.
I, personally/professionally use NEXA AUTOCOLOR which is often times sold at paint supply houses that sell PPG. I prefer this manufacturer of paint due to the strengths of the pigments in their system...which allow for fast paint coverage ( in most cases) which thus requires using less paint...which means less $$$ invested. Once again it will be up to you to decide how much you want to spend and if this paint system is what you plan to use on your Corvette.
