Default JSB color match

Hey Guys. I'm a long time non-participating member that has acquired a tremendous amount of knowledge from this forum. For that I thank everyone.
My problem that I find no answer to in the search function is the color match for my JSB wide booty conversion. First off, that's not entirely true. In natural light the match is dead on. I'm 100 percent pleased with the color and the orange peel match. The problem is under artificial light, specifically fluorescent and high pressure sodium lights.
Under the fluorescent at a 90 degree viewing angle the color is fine. When viewed at about 75 degrees or less the color takes on an increasingly purplish hue. The shop is being extremely helpful in addressing this problem and has had the regional Sikkens rep in twice already to do custom blends. He's scheduled back next week as well.
The process so far has been to spray test sheets, base coat only, and compare them to the original. The product on the new panels is base/clear. I know from the knowledge of the forum that the factory applied a base/tintcoat for JSB.
My question would be: If I can convince the rep that the process should be base/tintcoat will that take out the purplish hue?
I'm loving the wide booty conversion in the daylight but not so much sitting in the garage.
I'll also post this in the paint section.
All responses are appreciated.

A friend's experience with GM's JSB touch-up paint on a repair was identical.

It looked good at some light temperatures and angles, but at others, it went irridescent purple. He did try clearcoat touch-up over it, but I don't know whether it altered the behavior.

Actually, he tried to match the car a number of times, and I don't know whether he even remembers whether the clearcoat is still on top or not. I don't have a way to get in touch with him, but if I see him, I'll ask.

The paint has a unique color-shift component, the name of which I can't remember, so that may be involved.

Perhaps the shop would shoot clearcoat over one of the test sheets, if they still have one. Failing that, maybe some clearcoat from a touch-up bottle would work.

Thanks rwd. That's exactly the problem that I'm having. The Sikkens rep says that the clear coat is really clear and doesn't think that it would have any effect. He's manipulated the formula and sprayed about fifteen test panels, some better than others but obviously none close enough for me to remove the quarters, yet.

When he comes next week I'll suggest tinting the clear to see what happens and we'll go from there.

Thanks ...
