Panel paint question
Do you remove all the panels and paint, then place onto car.
OR
Do you paint the edging and inside of new panels, replace, then respray the entire car?
I am having the rear quarters and nose replaced with aftermarket and the painter is telling me the latter is correct.
In the shows I have seen, the former is the most often seen. Fit new panels, remove, paint, then replace.
Whats correct?
After these areas a trimmed out and cleared. A painter will then often times "back tape" this painted area and then paint the panel. This is so no overspray gets on what was painted previously.
I personally...on a C5...remove the panels so no overspray and tape edges or lines can be seen. Then install the panel when dry. But that is just me.
