True flex front bumper
Getting me '73 repainted to the '73 yellow. Can't wait and I needed a new front bumper. Took the old original off in pieces and "dry run" the new true flex. Man, it does not fit. I've heard that you might have to build out to fit but where do you build out? Any body has a video on how they did all of this. How about painting this new bumper. Will it turn to a different shade? Let me know all of the scoop. Thanks

I'm doing a '73 right now. '73s are a little easier than later models but still require a lot of fitting especially if you front end has ever been repaired in the past. See the write I did a few years ago on the later front ends. I changed my login a while back, but I'm the same person that wrote this. The procedure I use for fitment is the same on a '73 except for the modifications to the reinforcements. You may need to lower your reinforcement bar if it interferes with the bumper cover.

Yes this is a process to get to fit correctly and all gaps filled. I have done that I can count and I prefer to use "normal" fiberglass bumpers instead of this "true-flex" "stuff". I prefer a rigid part so filling on it will stay. You have to remember...I was installing fiberglass bumpers WAY before this "flex" fiberglass parts came out...so I have figured out a process that works every time.
