Default In between reducer temps....

Getting ready to paint and trying to decide which would be the best reducer. The temps here are around 70 degrees, which is at the low end of the medium reducer, but the high end of the fast reducer. So which would be better? The fast or medium reducer? Thanks! Paul

Always error on side of slower and give extra flash time, 70 degrees would always call for a medium reducer.

You can "cocktail" reducers in most cases...as long as the temp ranges are next to each other. So if you are using PPG DT870...you can mix it with DT860....BUT I would not mix DT 890 with DT 860. You would be jumping too many temp ranges. I know in the paint system I use....I wont jump temp ranges...but mix two reducers that are next to each other.

I also agree...I usually use a slower reducer to allow more flow depending on current air temps. But if you go too slow of reducer ( which is fine)...also take into account that it will require a longer flash time depending on your air movement in the "paint booth".
