Default Old Polish Splatter Removal

Hi, all. Quick question for you. I have this car that was apparently in the line of fire when another car was being machine polished. There's hundreds of tiny white dots of polish all over it. I'll admit that I let it sit like that for way longer than I should have, but I never dreamed the stuff wouldn't just clean up. Now that I'm trying to remove it, it's proven nearly impossible. If I spend a lot of time and effort on each individual spec they'll eventually come off, but this is ridiculous. Like I said, there are hundreds of them. My question is, would a clay bar (or one of those clay bar mits they sell now) wipe the splatter off straight away? I've never used one before but I know their purpose is to remove contaminants from the surface of paint, and I guess that's what this is. I didn't want to spend $50 on a setup before I asked, though. Naturally, if anyone has other suggestions I'm all ears.

Thanks.

Dan

I would try a clay bar. Wash your car 1st, I would recommend blue Dawn dish soap, then clay bar and then place a wax or sealer if you wish.

Sounds stupid...But with the PAINT COLD!!!!!...use Pine-Sol and water mix on a spot and see if it softens it and removes it. I use Pine-Sol and a toothbrush on wax, compound and polish that has baked into the letters of taillights, etc....and it works great with no damage. I also use it to soften years old compound that has dried hard as a rock. It softens it and removes it without damaging paint. Give it a try. You may have to re-apply a polish.

That sounds easy enough to try. What kind of Pine-Sol, exactly? I'm thinking they make a handful of products.

Thanks!
