My clearcoat on the decklid and tops of the front fenders has gone milky and not so clear anymore. my car is a silver convertabl with black top. I was thinking of doing a fade of a gun metal color on top and fading along the natural shadow line. Or just sand it down go back stock and reclear it.
I (personally)do not think a 'normal' two-tone effect would look good. The body lines do not make is possible unless you incorporate a graphic design...which is more work.
Also doing a fade...is dangerous due to future repairs if damage occurs in the fade area are REALLY HARD to get correct. And it is not just blowing paint onto the adjacent panel when attempting to get a good fade. There is a process...and you need a good width to make the fade look good and right.
Using the normal shadow line is up to you..who knows..it may turn out fine. Whatever you do....make sure you put enough clear on it to fight against the Texas sun....ESPECIALLY if you are the type that constantly wipes, polishes and washes your Corvette.
