So, I'm a total nub on this forum. I am a long time lover of Corvettes, but I just bought my first Corvette in June, a beautiful 2009 C6 with <40k miles. I really had no plans to mod it when I bought it, but the one I got was black which got me thinking... I am now about 6 coats in on blacking out my taillights (I've read up on laws, I'll be legal when I'm done...red lights visible at 500 ft, etc...). I've been following the guide on here for blacking out the taillights with the VHT paint. I totally screwed up the first coat and had to nearly sand it completely off due to runs... Anyway, my plan is to blackout all the lights and add small, red highlights. The next mod will be red lettering for the back bumper "corvette" lettering, and then red caliper covers. I just think that mostly black with minor, understated red highlights will look very nice... I'll post pics when I put the taillights back in...
Looks great. They look like a deep dark red. What going to be your second mod?
I need to finish with the side markers, fog lamps, and reverse lights. Then it's brake pads... Once that is done I was going to go for some red brake caliper covers (though I might go with the black ones with red lettering) and then some red lettering for the corvette lettering on the rear bumper. Christmas this year is going to be a whole lotta Corvette stuff.

Looks good just right I think. When you are ready for brake pads look me up I will be happy to help you out. Please don't put caliper covers on

OMFG, I love this vehicle!
I finally got around to the side markers today. Now that I knew what I was doing it went much smoother. The previous owner broke off the clips on the back side markers and threaded the posts to secure the side marker with bolts... it was a total pain in the a** to get off and back on with this RSI in my wrist. I'll post pics when I get a chance.
EDIT: Ugh, I didn't get the paint as even as I thought... it looks good in low light, not so much in full sun. Looks like I'll be doing it again... oh well.
