Hi, I have never been here, but I am doing small wrap/protection on my lo mile c6z. I got some clear tape from 3m/vivvid and tried apply both with and without solution. Now I come across some videos showing dry wrap vinyl being applied with good success.
So are these completely different products, or just different ways to apply?
In particular I want to do my mirrors, either clear or black (to match body). Then around the lip spoiler and trunk sides (putting items in/out of trunk for track days).
Any help appreciated!
There isn't really a big wrap following on here. Even less people willing to attempt a PPF installation. A handful of threads maybe. Vivvid and 3M are different brands. I know a lot of Vivvid sellers also sell 3M. It should be on the backing pretty clearly. But those are very different products. I like the 3M 1080 line but have used vivvid and other brands too (for wrap only never done any clear film).
ALWAYS DRY. These all have air channels now that simply do not work with a liquid installation strategy. The manufacture website will tell you exactly what methods to use and which to avoid. I'd start there.
