Default Body Gaps

Are the panel gap specs in the A.I.M. Pre paint or post paint?

According to DUB, who has contributed much to the forum as a professional restorer, he sets the unfinished gap at .23-.24". When the cars were assembled, the doors and hood were bolted on and adjusted in bare glass. The car was painted with the doors, headlights and hood on the car.

Agree
I use a paint stick as a gauge
Gaps will grow and close with primer, primer, sealer, paint, clear.....

I’m finding paint stir sticks to be all over the place in terms of thickness
Yes i can control the primer and high build but I will need to know the paint thickness
I wonder what the Judges are looking for as a finished gap?
thanks

Judges will be looking for uniform gaps.
As long as they are uniform and the panels fit you will be fine
JM will even call this out -
They wont measure your gaps
