Default Spray gun issue

I am in the process of painting my 67 myself. I bought the Devibiss Starting Line set, because it had good reviews.

it took a while for me to start painting because all the fine detail work takes far longer than you might expect.

I quickly found some deficiencies with the guns, that I have mentioned elsewhere. The regulator has a plastic lens that is opaque the first time lacquer thinner touches it, meaning first use. The directions are inadequate for a beginner like myself. And while it comes with different tips for the big gun, the installed ones are so tight you have to put the gun in a vice and use a big wrench to loosen. It feels like the gun is going to break for sure.

But I only recently noticed that it drips paint from the gun, paint cup connection. It dawned on me after looking closely that the gun was not cast correctly and the mating surface is not flat.

I have contacted Amazon, Devilbiss,

and the middleman JB tools. All are refusing to warranty because I am over the 30 days, even though the Amazon listing says 1 year, and it’s an obvious defect.

Bottom line, buy another brand.

my 2-cent opinion -- i really like Iwata - have several W400's, and IMO, and as guns go, these are the point of diminishing return - in other words, you can buy a better gun, but you'll pay a whole bunch more just to get a little better. less than 200$, but it will give you a lifetime of service. quality products. my gun(s) of choice - Iwata, W400 classic, Bellaria 1.3 and 1.4.

the set you purchased has multiple flaws, which can significantly impact the painting process and the final result. The lack of proper customer service and adherence to the warranty can make matters worse.

Your comment serves as a valuable warning to others who might consider buying the DeVilbiss Starting Line set. It highlights the importance of researching and carefully choosing products, especially when investing in tools for critical projects like painting a vehicle.

I hope that despite these setbacks, you're able to find a suitable solution and complete your project successfully. Best of luck with your car painting endeavor,

Harbor freight. 50 bucks for two guns. Can’t imagine how another gun could have done better
