Just wait Alex til YOU tie the knot. Things will change quickly. Keep in mind when I want to go and spend another $4000 on mods who I want to keep happy!

Rob , Your driving has improved big time over the last year . Must be all that time you spent at Cartek in the back room with the C5 drag racing simulator booth Now don't go giving out your secrets to any of your ECS buddies

Yup, it's the whole combination that makes it happen, it's a chain from components, tuning to driver.
Geneus, didn't Rob drive your car at the track? What mods are on your car?

Julio,

At the time Rob drove it, the car had a G5x3 cam (I know, sacrilage..LOL), AFR 205's, Kooks headers, 4.10 gears w/ DTE brace and an Excedy clutch. Rob took the car to an 11.3@ 123 w/ a 1.59-60'...he basically eased it to that number...didn't want to hurt it. Rob can drive, for sure.

Ohh, ok. Although I wouldn't let a guy like robz drive my car just to ease it down the track.

So there is more in it? Nice How much power does it make?

BTW Rob, after what I just read we have to void your warranty.

Julio,

At that time, the car was dyno'd at 450/410. It has since had the 90/90 added and is now at 470/420. Trust that the next time Rob drives it, he'll go a bit harder. I think the fact that this Excedy clutch is so different from his Cartek clutch and that at the time my car did not have a shift light to "cue" him (that has been rectified) did have some effect on how hard he pushed it his first time in the car. Personally, I think the car is quite capable of some upper 10's, given the right driver (a 1.4x-60') and conditions.

Hey Geneus , I'll drive your car , I promise I won't be easy on it , remember my car used to be a 6-speed , I can bang gears with the best , I bent a few shifters in my day though , so you may need a new one , when I'm through with it .

123 mph is low for 450 rwhp, robz ran 126 mph with 433 rwhp in his cam only car and same weather. What was the mph at the 1/8 th?

Hmmm...maybe I need to do an "indoor" dyno. Seriously, though, remember that Rob cut a 1.42-60' vs a 1.59-60' on his vs my car...big difference. And again, I wasn't in the car to say how hard he pushed it, but I think there was a difference. I'll have to pull the slip to see what it was trapping at the 1/8th mile. I'll be sure to post it for you.

Bending shift forks, were you Mike? I guess now that you have an automatic you spend less money and time at Cartek.

LOL, you already said that the Excedy is a POS when compared to the Cartek clutch and that's why your car won't 60'. J/K.

It's not the ET, you already explained that it was the clutch/driver, the MPH is to low for 450 rwhp in that kind of weather and a slower 60' brings up the mph. It would be interesting to see what you pick up from the 1/8th to the 1/4 when rob ran it.

Julio

Come to the light Geneus, there is still time. LOL
