OK idiot, he was pointing out the fact that you have no idea what you're talking about...you DONT need 1.88 rr if you're selecting a new camshaft, because you would just choose one that has the additional lift...Way to look like a complete dumb ***
Looks like Fixed Roof ******** has left the forum. Don't let the door hit ya in the azz on the way out.
Not really. most of the after market(excluding one highend rr maker) are heavier than stock and that alone wil contribute to valve float. Some that are roller tipped have lost the needle bearings!!!!! I'll stick to stock unless you are anticipating a high rpm big dollar build up.IMO
Stock rockers have also broken and flex so you may not be getting the true lift and duration of the cam. Aftermarket rockers can also help reduce valve noise
I have Yella Terra 1.7s, a Futral 228/230 cam and 5.3 TEA Stg 2s with comp 987s spun to 6,700 without problems. 15k miles on the H&C.
I got my MTI Stage II E heads, MTI G1 cam for $1,990 shipped. $700 for the install. $60 for the dyno time (unlimited upgrades w/ my tuner) at CAM in Durham, NC.
Man, 60 bucks for a dyno tune? I am getting screwed in Dallas area. 400 is standard and maybe 200 if you have a relationship with the shop. Possibly free if it is minor changes to the edit. Cam install at LG is 1000 bucks typically with all neccessary parts. plus tune of course.
IMO, if you are gonna run any head and cam package, go with some comp 921's, decent cam, good afr heads...stay away from the 1.85 rockers. go with a 1.7 shaft mount. i gained 1 hp from my rockers on a h/c combo and lost torque...just not worth the extra money.

To clarify, Jeff charges $400.00 for tuning and dyno time the first time. Afterward, updates are free, but you do have to pay for the dyno time. The $60 was for dyno time only..
