I've tried lowering tire pressure, flashing(1200rpm) stalling to 2500rpms
and tires well heated but not over done on drag radials, but still the best I can get is 1.84. Anymore suggestions before the season end???
So close to the 11's!!!!

Are you spinning at all?? If you are then a bit more burn out...... get those tires really heated up and you may want to stall it up and roll into the throttle rather quickly instead of just mashing it. Try running your drag radials around 20 psi.

On the other hand if you are hooking (which I guess you are) I think that the 2.73's are your problem, it may not have much more 60' in it with your combo..... if this is the case try holding the car on the brake at idle not stalling it up at all, when the lights come down mash the gas and flash the converter and it may net you a bit better 60' if the traction is there.

I had a C4 coupe with the 2.59 gears, it left soft, hard to really get a good 60' time out of it.

I hear you. and thanks for the reply. But i've seen f-bodies with same gears, weigh more , e.t.higher, with less mph and still get a low 1.7x. I know I am somewhat comparing apples and oranges but I know there has to be some c5s out there that are autos that are doing better than me. I have'nt tried launching off idle, not wanting to shock the drivetrain. But I'll give it a try.Any one else that has 1.70 or below 60ft times that want to chime in??? BTW I know of 2 c4s(one with 3.08 and the other with 2.59 gears) that are in the 1.65 range. Oh at 1.82 60ft could I safely say I'm not spinning??

1.64 to 1.67 all night long with the mods in my signature. I am running 17" ET Streets and get the tires to the point of smoking before driving out of my burnout. Tires are also inflated (HIGH) to 25lbs. I cannot launch against the converter as it causes mega wheel spin. I launch from idle. I have about 30 less horse power than you do. Hope this helps you somewhere.

A little unconventional, but try runnin with a close to full tank of gas. What you pick up in your 60' from added weight over the rear tires may outweigh what u lose in the second half of the track from the added weight. Just somethin to try. Good luck getting in to the 11's!!!

When I ran your mph I ran high 11s but was using 4.10 rear getting low 1.7 high 1.6 60'

To get there from where you are you might want to look at ligtening the car

I run my M/T Dr's at 19 to 20 lbs hot. I Stall converter at 2000 - 2200 rpms at starting line. I shift at 5900 to 6000 rpms. My C5 goes 1.61 -1.5 60fts most of the time. I do a decent burnout u know u got to show off somewhere

The 2 factors that finally got me into the 1.60's was driving around and backing into the waterbox(keeps the front tires dry), and not overdoing the burnout. I am sure those 2.73's are not helping you either.

Do you know if you are spinning the tires? If yes, lower the tire pressure more and heat them up some more.

If not, you need a higher stall converter and more gear. You may not have the low end torque for it.

Hmm... low end torque...granted my max is 346 torque but I've seen f-bodies with less do some 1.7x to 1.6x. Something to think about .
